Early Life[]
Tortured by Villagers[]

Basar is held in a crypt
Basar was one of the oldest demons to walk the Earth, having grown very powerful.[7] While Basar was fishing, he was attacked and killed by four villagers with spears. Basar cried out as his mother watched them die. He then returned and killed all of the villagers present.[4] He was held in check by a Keeper demon in a crypt in Colma, California, while his mother possessed Victoria Helstrom.[2]
Finally Freed[]
Possessing Keith Spivey[]

Basar prepares to entrall Keith Spivey
Kthara recruited Hock and Liddle to bring Keith Spivey to the Keeper's crypt, where the two killed Spivey so that Basar could escape and possess Spivey. Basar than killed Hock and Liddle, leaving very little behind. Late that night, he came across a Roxxon Gas Station, where he attacked Alex Tilden, marking him for possession by Magoth.[2] While wandering Earth, Basar came across a human and decided to consume it, opening Spivey's ribcage in order to do so.[7]

Basar sits down after killing a fraternity
He went to the Phi Gamma Epsilon House, where he killed all of the members of the fraternity, including a young rich boy who pled for his life, and sat in a chair while Magoth possessed a young boy he had marked. Magoth told Basar that Helstrom had been warned that they were coming, and Basar told Magoth to bring Gabriella Rosetti to him.[3] To cover his tracks, he caused an electrical fire at the frat house, which authorities believed to be the reason for the deaths.[8]
Impersonating Marduk Kurios[]

Basar warns Ana Helstrom
- "Hello, button."
"It's you." - ―Basar and Ana Helstrom[src]
Following a plan outlined for her by Magoth, Aubree Richards led Ana Helstrom to an abandoned building, where Basar attacked her, calling her "Button" so that she believed he was her father. Helstrom attempted to kill him, to no avail, and Basar quickly overpowered her. He then turned his attention to Richards, who began panicking and explaining that she had done as he asked. He broke Richards' spine and consumed her while Helstrom fled.[3]

Basar visits Jolene Spivey
He then intended to rescue Kthara from Saint Teresa Center for Mental Health, and needed Raum's help in order to do so. Basar went to the Blood Hotel, where Raum was being kept in a coma, and killed all of the workers there. He freed Raum and brought him to the Spivey Residence, where he went through Spivey's belongings until he found his ID badge. Jolene Spivey approached him and asked her "husband" where he had been and whether he had truly helped two patients escape Saint Teresa's, and Basar responded by biting her lip, making her scream. He kidnapped her, planning to have her get possessed, and put her in the back of his trunk. He then got into the car with Raum and the two left together.

Basar walks towards Victoria Helstrom
He went to Saint Teresa's and entered the security room, where Ellis tried to stop him and set off the alarm. However, Basar killed Ellis and went to Victoria Helstrom's room. He broke down the door and found that she was not there. He had the power turned off and got Magoth to steal the Keeper's Skull, and then freed the patients. He found Victoria Helstrom, Daimon Helstrom, Ana Helstrom, Louise Hastings, Gabriella Rosetti, and Chris Yen together and attacked them. He pushed everyone to the side and marked Rosetti, taking Victoria down the elevator with him and keeping the door closed that they could not follow.

Basar attempts to consume Daimon Helstrom
Daimon and Ana rushed down the stairs, and realized that the Keeper's Skull was damaging Keith Spivey's body. Basar confronted Ana while Daimon rushed to their mother. Basar pushed Ana across the room onto a car windshield, causing the skull to fly across the room under a truck, angering Daimon. He started using his telekinesis to throw heavy objects at Basar, who expertly dodged them. The two fought, and Basar opened the mouth on his stomach, preparing to consume Daimon.

Basar's body gets burnt and destroyed
Meanwhile, Victoria had managed to get the skull and give it to Ana, who put it into Basar's mouth. This caused Spivey's body to get torn in two, destroying much of it. Basar remained in Spivey's body while Ana gloated to whom she believed to be her father, saying that she would never be like him. While Kthara took full control of Victoria's body and caused a noise to distract the Helstroms, Basar grabbed Ana's leg, and her powers caused her to realize that he was not their father. Kthara then brought Basar's body into the truck and closed the door, while Raum drove them away.[6]
Broken Body in Hiding[]

Basar communicates with Kthara
Kthara and Raum drove Basar to Portland Harbor, where the three hid out on the Garibaldi II. Raum left to get drugs to keep Kthara's host body alive, although he did not bring any for Basar. Kthara and Raum argued about whether that was a smart idea, while Kthara cried of Basar's host body while he coughed up fluid. Kthara and Raum continued talking while Basar continued to lie down, in pain. The drugs helped Kthara gave the strength to sit up and comfort Basar, who drew a symbol on the wall using his host body's blood, communicating to Kthara that he had marked someone else, pleasing his mother.[1]

Basar gets torn from his host by Kthara
Kthara later sang to Basar in Icelandic, comforting him as she and Raum then discussed Raum's failure to find the people Basar had marked. Raum spoke of Basar disrespectfully, so Kthara scolded him for it. She continued singing as she turned Basar on his side and ripped him out of his host body, killing it.[4]
Possessing Daimon Helstrom[]

Basar finds a new host in Daimon Helstrom
Basar then possessed Daimon Helstrom with help from Kthara, who had possessed Gabriella Rosetti. Using Rosetti's and Helstrom's bodies, the two then had sex, impregnating Rosetti so that Kthara could have a new host.[4] He went to Saint Teresa Center for Mental Health and looked through Louise Hastings' office, observing a picture of Hastings and a group of children. He found Victoria Helstrom's room and closed the door, attempting to kill her after briefly pretending to be her son. Ana Helstrom found and stopped him, and the two briefly fought after Ana realized who he was. Basar nearly gained the upper hand, until Helstrom dropped a chandelier on him, knocking him out.

Basar taunts Ana Helstrom
He woke up and found himself tied down to a hospital bed and taunted Helstrom, calling her "Button" and telling her that it was too late to stop him from possessing her brother. Hastings then demanded to know where Gabriella Rosetti was, so he told her that she was dead. However, Helstrom did not believe him.

Basar looks at Victoria Helstrom
He was later visited by Victoria Helstrom, and tried to get to her by saying that her son was dead. However, Helstrom insisted that he could fight the demon, and told him that Kthara would not be coming for him. She explained that Kthara saw him as a tool, and this upset Basar, so he began attacking the hospital and cracking he viewing panel. Frightened for Helstrom's life, Hastings rushed over and ended the conversation.

Basar sees the Shard
Helstrom later entered his room and said that she was ready to say goodbye to Basar. Basar expressed confidence that Helstrom would not kill him, given that his brother would not survive, although Helstrom insisted that she would. He began manipulating Helstrom's body with his telekinesis, revealing to her a memory he had found of his host, Daimon Helstrom, attempting to kill himself. However, Ana refused to believe him. Basar boasted about being the best at killing his own kind, although Ana revealed that she was the only person keeping Rosetti alive, so Basar charged at her. However, Daimon fighting for control caused Basar to collapse, and he briefly resumed control of his own body.

Basar fights for control
He began fighting for control, while Daimon remained in power and tried to hold off until Ana could return with the second half of the dagger, which was needed to kill Basar. The fight ended with Daimon killing himself, hoping to end his possession.[9] However, this only allowed Basar to resume his control of Helstrom's body, as it was moved into the morgue. He attacked the mortician on duty, allowing him to escape.

Basar attacks Raum
He went to an abandoned carnival, demanding to know from Raum and Magoth where Gabriella Rosetti and Kthara was. Raum said that they did not have her, so Basar began choking Raum, scolding them for failing to protect Kthara. Magoth said that since his host was a member of the Blood, they'd be able to find her using his contacts. They tracked her down to a church, where Rosetti tried to get through to Daimon Helstrom. Basar taunted her as Raum and Magoth entered the church, when Terrazi began praying as the Blood surrounded the demons. Basar ordered the demons to take Rosetti while he killed the Blood members, but Rosetti stopped and prevented the deaths by agreeing to go with him.

Basar fights Ana Helstrom
As they arrived at the carnival, Rosetti refused to give birth to Kthara, and Basar advised her not to speak ill of the demon. Rosetti asked questions about the war and the demons' oppressors, and Basar momentarily stopped to explain that it was humans. Rosetti begged for Helstrom to break through his possession, to no avail. Basar had Rosetti brought back to the room she was previously kept in. As she was placed in a bathtub, Rosetti again failed to reach Helstrom. Basar told Rosetti that no one would save her and she was alone. Rosetti told Basar that he did not understand life, so Basar threatened to kill her. Rosetti began experiencing contractions, so Basar told Magoth and Raum that it was time for Kthara to be born. The demons sensed that Ana Helstrom and Chris Yen, a new Keeper Demon had arrived at the carnival, so Basar left to handle them.

Basar is killed by Ana Helstrom
Basar found Helstrom and led her into the carnival's haunted house, where she shouted after him. Basar explained that her Helstrom's brother had failed to exorcise him and offered her the chance to join the demons in the war against humans. She refused, so Basar turned on the haunted house, frightening Helstrom. Helstrom eventually found Basar and the two fought for control of Helstrom's father's dagger. Basar eventually gained control and got on top of Helstrom, stabbing her. She managed to get him off of her, when Daimon Helstrom temporarily regained control and begged his sister to kill him. Basar sensed the new Keeper's presence and attack Yen, who managed to contain him long enough for Helstrom to use the dagger to cut Basar out of her brother, killing him.[10]
