Barky Barnes is a nickname given by DJ to a service dog that was present at the Smithsonian Institution when it was attacked.

Theft of the Solar-Battery Drones[]
A service dog was taken in by an older woman, and the two went to the Smithsonian Institution. The museum was attacked and the dog ended up on top of a Bucky Barnes display while her owner got pinned under a nearby display. While Sam Wilson saved the dog's owner, smoke started to fill the room. The dog sneezed and fell off the display, where she was caught by DJ sliding across the room on Captain America's Shield. DJ tried to put the dog down, but she instead climbed into the hood of DJ's hoodie and barked. DJ nicknamed the dog Barky Barnes and took her with him as he rushed after Wilson, hoping to return his shield.
Barky Barnes hid with DJ as they watched Wilson get cornered. The dog then watched as DJ returned the shield to Wilson, allowing Wilson to defeat the attacking soldiers. DJ and Barky Barnes approached Wilson, and Barky Barnes watched as Wilson comforted DJ and assured him that appearances did not define a hero. Wilson gestured to the people DJ saved, and DJ and Barky Barnes looked out together. A man recognized DJ, and Barky Barnes' owner called out to her. Barky Barnes then went over and was reunited with her owner, who pet her.[1]
