Bangladesh, officially the People's Republic of Bangladesh is a country located in South Asia.

Prior to World War II, the land comprising modern day Bangladesh was part of India. In 1947, following the aftermath of the war, the United Kingdom granted independence to India, bringing an end to British colonial rule. However, the British Empire also decided to divide India into two nations – India and Pakistan. The Partition of India also included the Partition of Bengal, where the Indian province of Bengal was split into the Hindu-majority West Bengal, situated in India, and the Muslim-majority East Bengal, situated in the newly formed nation of Pakistan.[1]

As an enclave of the Dominion of Pakistan, East Bengal was renamed East Pakistan while the rest of Pakistan was designated West Pakistan. However, following a civil war among the two enclaves, Pakistan split into two as well, with East Pakistan becoming its own independent nation known as Bangladesh.[1]

In 2017, Bangladesh was visited by Lance Hunter. While here Hunter heard that Leo Fitz was missing. He immediately tried to get an issue of the Ballbuster Hooligans, in which Fitz placed secret messages, but there were zero copies available in Bangladesh. When he finally got hold of some he left Bangladesh and traveled back to the United States of America to help Fitz escape from Blue Raven Ridge.[2]
