Enhanced Experiments[]
Under the orders of Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, Hydra scientist Doctor Baden ran experiments on several individuals using the Scepter and the Mind Stone which all failed, killing the test subjects. When Baden brought in a volunteer named Wanda Maximoff, however, the experiment worked. Baden instructed Maximoff to touch the Mind Stone, witnessing her walk forward and disappear and reappear in an instant, fainting afterward. Immediately, Baden had Maximoff put in isolation and attempted to figure out what happened to her.[2]
