The Avengers are a team of superheroes who stopped the Chitauri attack.
The Avengers fought against Loki and his army in New York City. To win the battle, Iron Man directed a nuke through the wormhole and used it to destroy the Chitauri Command Center. The invasion was stopped, but Iron Man was trapped in space.[1]
