The Attack on the Freedom Fighters was an ambush led by M.O.D.O.K. to apprehend Scott and Cassie Lang.
Background[]
Cassie Lang developed a Quantum Satellite together with Hank Pym, and during her demonstration to Scott Lang, Hope van Dyne, and Janet van Dyne, its signal was hijacked by Darren Cross, who turned it into a portal sucking them into the Quantum Realm.
Cassie and Scott were separated from the rest of them, eventually being captured by Jentorra and the Freedom Fighters. During their questioning, they realized that Scott and Cassie came from the surface, and that Kang would come for them, making her demand them to leave.[1]

Immediately though, members of Kang's soldiers dropped down and attacked the Freedom Fighters' camp, with the Freedom Fighters trying their best to take down or escape with their buildings, with Cassie suiting into Stature and Ant-Man using their shrinking tech to take down closer soldiers.
However, M.O.D.O.K. arrived, using the Doomsday Chair to destroy the Freedom Fighters' turrets and building and using the Chair's weapons on the Fighters while cornering Scott and Cassie. Finally, M.O.D.O.K. revealed his identity as Darren Cross to his former enemies, and brought them in to Kang the Conqueror's prison along with Jentorra and remaining Freedom Fighters who were not killed or escaped.[1]

With Scott Lang and Cassie used of Pym Particles, Kang the Conqueror forced Scott to use them to shrink the Multiversal Engine Core or he would kill Cassie, which Scott reluctantly agreed to.[1]
