The Attack on Nidavellir was the first stage in a plot by the Asgardian traitor Imir to overthrow Odin, by forcing the Dwarves to forge him a special axe to help him defeat the Asgardian warriors. However, he was defeated by Thor, who rescued the Dwarves and defeated Imir.
Background[]
An Asgardian, named Imir, plotted to overthrow Odin and held the Dwarves hostage so they could make him an axe with special abilities, including slicing through reality.[1]
Attack[]
Thor arrived on Nidavellir and threw Mjølnir at Imir who used his axe to deflect it. He then explained the axe's new abilities and sliced through reality. Thor looked around for his enemy, but couldn't find him. Imir sliced back through behind Thor and hit him on the back of the head. Thor then summoned lightning through the chimney, which knocked Imir out.[1]
Aftermath[]
Thor broke the Dwarves free and thanked them again for giving him Mjølnir, which has allowed him to hold power over the heavens.[1]
