- ―Daniel Sousa to Vernon Masters[src]
The Attack on Daniel Sousa was an attempt to stop Daniel Sousa from getting involved in Whitney Frost's affairs.
Background[]
- "Like I said, we'll do our best. But I wouldn't get my hopes up."
"Well, I guess I'll just keep my expectations... realistic, huh?" - ―Daniel Sousa and Vernon Masters[src]
Vernon Masters approached Daniel Sousa to help with an experiment with the uranium rods. Knowing that this was an attempt to manipulate Sousa's power, he declined. Later, Masters ordered two hit men to attack Sousa so that Masters could take control of the SSR while Sousa was hurt.[1]
Attack[]
- "Stand him up! You want to be a hero, huh?"
- ―Vega to Blackwell and Daniel Sousa[src]
Daniel Sousa, who was at his home, opened his door. Waiting there were disguised SSR agents, Vega and Blackwell.[2] One hit man held his arms, while the other started punching Sousa, rhetorically asking if he wanted to be a hero. They then punched him until Sousa was too weak to move. They left while Sousa was catching his breath on the floor.[1]
Aftermath[]
- "I'll be taking over SSR L.A. operations for the foreseeable future."
- ―Vernon Masters to Daniel Sousa[src]
The following morning, Daniel Sousa arrived at the SSR bloody and hurt. Vernon Masters greeted him there acting like he didn't know Sousa was hurt. Masters told Sousa that he would have to take power in the SSR while Sousa was hurt. Sousa said that wasn't necessary, but Masters forced him out.[1]
