The Attack on Basar was an attack by Ana Helstrom to kill Basar, who was possessing her brother.

Basar is locked up
Basar had been able to take over Daimon Helstrom's body. He then attacked Victoria Helstrom at the Saint Teresa Center for Mental Health. Ana Helstrom soon arrived and attacked Basar, thinking he was Daimon. However, upon touching Daimon, she found the memories of Basar. The two then fought with Helstrom eventually incapacitating Basar. The group tied up Basar, who started mocking and taunting them. Eventually, they locked up Basar and Ana grew to believe she had to kill Basar, even if it killed Daimon.[2]

- "No, it's‐‐ it's not working. It feels different than before when he‐‐ when he used it. Before it broke. We need‐‐"

Ana Helstrom grabbed a half of the Shard and made her way to Basar's cell. She then opened it and was met with a strong closing as she walked in; Basar just smiled. A fearless Basar claimed she was not going to use the Shard. Ana told him to call her bluff and step closer. However, a still unfazed Basar said it would mean the death of Daimon Helstrom as well. Ana simply said Daimon was a martyr so he would not mind. Basar used his mind to hold Ana's hand still as he talked about knowing Daimon's memories.
Basar points the Shard at Ana Helstrom
Basar then started talking about the Kidnapping of Ana Helstrom and how Daimon felt so helpless that he tried to jump off St. Johns Bridge. Basar then directed the Shard at Ana's own head and she struggled to keep the blade away from her. Ana then claimed she should not be killed and she was the only one keeping Gabriella Rosetti alive and Rosetti was pregnant with Kthara. Suddenly, Basar lunged at Ana, but was held back by Daimon, who tried to take control of his body again.
Ana Helstrom begins to cut out Basar
With Basar unconscious on the ground, Ana walked over and pulled back his collar, seeing Basar inside Daimon's spine. She then went to strike, only for Daimon to wake up in fear. A struggling Daimon told Ana to cut Basar out. She then stabbed Daimon's back, causing Daimon immense pain forcing him to yell at her to stop. He then said that the Shard was not working and it felt different than when Marduk Kurios used it on him: they needed both pieces.
Daimon Helstrom tries to exorcise himself
Knowing there was no other choice, Daimon told Ana to go and help Rosetti. Ana obliged and made Daimon promise he would hold out for her to get the second piece of the Shard. Daimon then began fighting Basar internally. This involved trying to exorcise himself. As the two fought, Basar slammed Daimon against the walls of the room until the exorcism reached Daimon's eyeballs, burning them out and killing Daimon.[2]
Aftermath[]

Doctor Katherine Reynolds arrived and pronounced Daimon Helstrom dead. She then had somebody call Louise Hastings. Ana Helstrom and Victoria Helstrom arrived back at Saint Teresa Center for Mental Health with the two halves of the Shard to help Daimon. However, they were notified of his death. Meanwhile in the morgue, Basar awoke from Daimon's body, still possessing it and escaped. Ana later arrived at the morgue to see that Basar escaped and Daimon was possibly revived. Ana and Victoria then used their strength and will to merge the Shard to full capabilities in order to defeat the demons. With this, Ana was able to kill Basar and save Daimon.[3]
