The Atomic Bomb is a weapon of great power that was used only two times in the history of the world.
History
World War II

Using the power of the Tesseract, Arnim Zola designed a series of piloted atomic bombs. HYDRA attempted to use those bombs against the United States in 1945, via their gigantic plane, the Valkyrie. However, due to the efforts of Captain America, the plane was crashed into the icy waters of the North Atlantic and the bombs were destroyed.[1]
Later that same year, the United States Air Force used the atomic bombs, codenamed Fat Man and Little Boy[2] and created by the Manhattan Project, which included Howard Stark,[3] against the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which ended World War II.[2]
