- "32 WITHERS STREET. He's Alone."
- ―Vanessa Fisk to Luca[src]
The Assassination of Luca was the murder of Luca planned by Wilson Fisk due to the former's constant insubordination and failure to pay restitution he owed to Viktor.
Background[]
- "The rules were worth it when you were running things. It was better then. You know that."

Luca hired Devlin to hijack a truck that belonged to Viktor at Red Hook Pier. However, the operation went terribly wrong, ending in both truck drivers being murdered. As a result, Vanessa Fisk ordered Luca to pay Viktor $1.8 million for restitution.[3] Because Luca was not earning as much money since Wilson Fisk took over leading the Five Families from Vanessa,[2] he did not have the funds to pay Viktor. Instead, he hired Devlin once again to rob New York Mutual Bank in order to acquire the $1.8 million.
The heist was foiled by the combined efforts of Matt Murdock and the NYPD.[4] Desperate, Luca showed up unannounced at Gracie Mansion, where Wilson upped Luca's debt to $2.8 million due to the disrespect Luca demonstrated.[5] Meeting with Vanessa, Luca attempted to turn Wilson's wife against him, suggesting she should become the leader of the Five Families once again. This attempt backfired when Vanessa told her husband about their interaction, and the couple, along with Buck Cashman, conspired to get rid of Luca.[2]
Assassination[]

Wilson Fisk ate dinner at Bamonte's while Buck Cashman stationed himself in the shadows of the restaurant armed with a suppressed pistol. Meanwhile, Vanessa Fisk, who had tricked Luca into thinking she was on his side, texted Luca the address of the restaurant so Luca could kill Wilson, telling Luca that her husband was alone. Luca drove to the restaurant and entered quietly. As he approached Wilson, whose back was to Luca, Cashman emerged from his hiding spot and shot Luca twice in the head, killing him.[2]
Aftermath[]

Wilson Fisk praises his wife for tricking Luca
- "What this project here is about to become is due to what you've done with our financing. What you did with Luca."
"He was a punk, playing at a throne. It was painful to watch." - ―Wilson Fisk and Vanessa Fisk[src]
Wilson and Vanessa Fisk spoke about the Red Hook Port Revitalization Project at Red Hook Pier, with Wilson telling her that the project would be able to come to fruition because of how she handled Luca. Vanessa simply said that Luca was a punk and explained he had tried trying to bite off more than he could chew, calling his desperation for superiority painful to watch.[6]
