The Assassination of Edward Tate was a successful murder performed by Ana Helstrom, who had discovered that Edward Tate was a serial killer.

Background[]

Ana Helstrom was the daughter of a serial killer who was put into foster care after being kidnapped, where she met Chris Yen. One day, Yen found out that Helstrom had killed their foster father, and the two of them began delivering vigilante justice together.[3] The two investigated people who deserved it, and then began holding antique auctions that would attract their victim. Helstrom would then kill their target and Yen would help cover it up.

Helstrom and Yen discovered that Edward Tate had killed seven women, and decided to target him. They organized an antique auction, which Tate attended.[4]

Assassination[]

As Ana Helstrom arrived at the antique auction, and Chris Yen pointed out their target, Edward Tate. Helstrom walked through the auction house, ensuring that Tate took notice of her. She and Yen watched Tate bid on a sword formerly owned by Napoleon Bonaparte and reminded each other of their plan.

Helstrom led Tate to the roof of the building, where they discussed Willard Libby's career. Tate complimented Helstrom's intelligence, while Yen noticed the two were getting close and left. Helstrom mentioned having heard that Tate liked twisted actions. She then revealed that the sword was procured for the sole purpose of getting Tate's attention so that he would appear at the auction. Helstrom sensed Tate's murderous past and used her demonic powers to begin killing him. She said that she was also a thief and threw him off of the roof of the building.[4]

Aftermath[]

Chris Yen planted a suicide note on Edward Tate's body, upset that Ana Helstrom had killed him in such a public way. The news believed the suicide story,[4] with the exception of Tate's brother, Cameron Tate. Tate confronted Yen about the murder, although Yen killed him under the influence of the Keeper's Skull.[5]
