"Where's Alexandra?"
"She's dead."
"Did you kill her?"
"No. She did."
Daredevil, Iron Fist and Jessica Jones[src]

The Assassination of Alexandra Reid was a take over carried out by Elektra. Having regained most of her memories and harbouring a desire to live, Elektra claimed leadership over the Hand to complete their plan to break the sealed barrier and gain the ingredient for immortality.

Background

"Her name was Elektra Natchios. You are not her. You are much more than she ever was. There was a man. They call him the Devil of Hell's Kitchen. And in this other life, he let Elektra die."
"Is he the one I faced in battle?"
"He may try to deceive you again and turn you away from us."
"That won't happen."
Alexandra Reid and Elektra[src]

Upon the capture of Iron Fist, Alexandra Reid, Murakami, and the others regrouped to properly greet him.[6]

Assassination

"Alexandra's dead. I killed her. That's what I wanted."
Elektra to Iron Fist[src]

Scolding her supposed allies on them underestimating her leadership, Reid ordered the Black Sky to kill Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Daredevil. Unbeknownst to her, Elektra grabbed her sai blades and pierced through Reid's body, telling her that the Devil's name was Matthew.[6]

Aftermath

"You work for me now. Any questions?"
Elektra[src]

Directing her attention to the remaining three fingers, she proclaimed her adoptive name "Elektra Natchios" and that they ran things under her leadership. She, then, beheaded the corpse, wiped the blood from her face, and asked if any of them had questions.[6]
