The Asgardian Royal Family is the ruling family of Asgard, ruled by Odin. The family defended Asgard from an invasion led by Mangog.
History[]
Rise[]
As Odin came to rule Asgard, he created a weapon known as Mangog. He sent Mangog to Vanaheim to prevent the Vanir from using Frostgrinder as their own Bifrost Bridge. Odin then locked Mangog in the Cave of Ages.[1]
Frost Giant Invasion[]
Odin raised two sons on Asgard: Thor and Loki. The sons befriended Sif and defended Asgard when Frost Giants invaded. Thor, Loki, and Sif stopped the invasion, but Sif was killed in the process. Odin met Thor and Sif, and Thor planned to raise an army against Niflheim. However, Odin insisted that it would be unwise, forbidding anyone from going. Loki then manipulated Thor, convincing him to go to Niflheim anyway and open the Cave of Ages. While Thor disobeyed Odin's orders, Odin resurrected Sif in an attempt to prevent Thor from making a mistake.[1]
Release of Mangog[]
Loki tricked Thor into unleashed Mangog from the Cave of Ages. Mangog teleported itself away as Loki tricked Thor into going to Vanaheim instead of Asgard. While Thor struggled to return, Loki attempted to use the Casket of Ancient Winters to freeze Mangog, making himself appear to be a hero. However, the Casket only briefly froze Mangog, who freed himself and resumed his rampage.
Loki then appeared to Thor and helped him get to Muspelheim so that Thor could retrieve Scabrite to defeat Mangog. Thor fought through the Fire Demons in Muspelheim and defeated Surtur, retrieving Scabrite and bringing it to Asgard. Thor, Loki, and Odin fought Mangog, getting him to go to the Althing. The three then worked together to defeat him, and Odin released the souls of the Vanir from within Mangog.[1]

- Description: Odin is the patriarch of the Asgardian Royal Family, who ruled Asgard for countless years. He used a weapon known as Mangog for his battles, but ultimately locked it away in the Cave of Ages. Mangog was accidentally unleashed by his son Thor, so Odin helped to defeat the weapon and release the souls that were trapped in it.
Thor Odinson[]
- Name: Thor Odinson
- Status: Alive
- Description: Thor was the son of Odin and the prince of Asgard. He reacted poorly to the death of Sif and was manipulated by Loki into unleashing Mangog from the Cave of Ages on Niflheim. Loki then sent him to Vanaheim, where he discovered the truth about Mangog and how he was used as a weapon by Odin. To set things right, Thor went to Muspelheim to infuse Mjølnir with Scabrite and use against Mangog. With help from the rest of his family, Thor defeated Mangog.
Loki Laufeyson[]
- Name: Loki Laufeyson
- Status: Alive
- Description: Loki was the brother of Thor and the son of Odin, who wanted to receive the same praises his brother did as a hero. Loki saw that Thor was distraught of the death of Sif, so he manipulated Thor into going to Niflheim and releasing Mangog from its prison. Loki then had Thor sent to Vanaheim so that he could be the hero who used the Casket of Ancient Winters to stop Mangog. However, Loki's plan did not work and Mangog continued his rampage on Asgard, so he helped Thor get Scabrite from Muspelheim and defeat Mangog.
