Asgardian Ravens are avian creatures native to Asgard.

History[]

A pair of carved Asgardian Ravens stood on either side of the Hlidskjalf, the throne of Asgard. One of these ravens was destroyed during Malekith's invasion of Asgard in 2013, but was eventually repaired. Both carvings were later destroyed in 2017 along with the rest of the throne during Ragnarök.[1][2][3][4]

The Asgardian Ravens Hugin and Munin were owned by Odin, to whom they reported information about events occurring throughout the Nine Realms. They were present in 2010 during Thor's failed coronation ceremony, sitting atop either side of Odin's throne. They later watched over Odin while he was in Odinsleep.[2]

In 2012, after Loki conspired to use the Tesseract and the Chitauri to invade Earth, Odin sent Hugin and Mugin along with Thor to Earth, tasked with watching over his sons. When Thor took Loki from the Quinjet, they were perched on some rocks just before Thor and Loki slammed into the ground, and were later flying by the mountaintop while the brothers were talking.[5]

By 2013, Hugin and Mugin had returned to Asgard, and flew over Odin outside the Royal Palace of Valaskjalf. When Odin greeted Thor after his return from restoring peace in Vanaheim, one of them flew down and perched on Odin's arm.[3]

By 2024, Hugin and Munin had joined the Asgardians in New Asgard, Norway on Earth. They assisted Valkyrie in her duties as King by providing mail runs for her.[6]

Characteristic Traits[]

Asgardians Ravens are similar to Earth's ravens, being beaked and winged avian creatures covered with black feathers.
