History[]
The Ten Rings, an international terrorist organization, affiliated with members of the Congolese Army in the North Kivu region, to fulfill their quest of destabilizing multiple regions to induce global chaos.
The atrocities being committed in North Kivu caught the eye of the United States Armed Forces, who tried to stop these insurgents during the field test for a new single-pilot close-quarter combat vehicle, nicknamed the Aerodynamic Marvel. General Thaddeus Ross, officer in charge of the project, ordered the vehicle to deployed over Congo, in an operation monitored by him and lead designer Justin Hammer.
However, despite Hammer's claims that the vehicle was not vulnerable to surface-to-air attacks, the Congolese Army was able to shoot the plane down, leaving the pilot alone in hostile territory. The Congolese Army approached the vehicle, salvaging any piece of equipment they could and capturing the pilot. Iron Man arrived just in time to save the airman from being executed by Congolese soldiers waving the flag of the Ten Rings. However, he refused to kill the soldiers, instead disarming and knocking them down by attacking the soil beneath them.[1]
