History[]
Coup d'état[]
On June 4, 1943, a coup d'état removed President Ramón Castillo from power, after thirteen years of fraud and corruption.[1]
Quantum Anomaly[]

Elihas Starr's Quantum Tunnel explodes
Elihas Starr moved his wife and daughter to Buenos Aires. There he began his research of the Quantum Realm's quantum energy and built a Quantum Tunnel. He was eventually tracked down by Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne who wanted to speak to him following Pym having fired him previously. However, Starr returned to his facility and tasked his guards to stop Pym and van Dyne. He then rushed to the Tunnel, however, a malfunction happened and it went into overload. He then told his wife and daughter to leave for their own safety. His daughter ended up running back to be with him, but was stopped by her mother, just as the Tunnel ruptured and an explosion occurred sending bursts of Quantum energy out, destroying the facility and killing Starr, his wife and the guards. Starr's daughter survived but became inundated with quantum energy. When the local paramedics arrived, they were unable to touch her as she had become intangible from the accident.

S.H.I.E.L.D. learned about the anomaly and sent Bill Foster to investigate. He found Starr's daughter at a convent and took her from it to help her.[2]
Elektra's Murders[]

In 2015, Elektra, a member of the Chaste, visited Buenos Aires during her travels and killed a pilot.[3]
Blackout Attack[]
In March 2017, Buenos Aires was one of the seven cities who was hit by a blackout caused by the Watchdogs. However, S.H.I.E.L.D. agents learned of a solution and restored power to Buenos Aires.[4]
Wong and Stephen Strange's Visit[]
That fall, Stephen Strange went to Mendoza to meditate, when he suddenly received a vision of the Kalkartho coming to consume Earth's energy. He brought Wong to the mountain and stood at the top of one of the mountains. They walked for a bit until they were at the intersection of two ley lines and sat, where Strange brought the two of them into the Magenta Dimension. The pair then returned to the New York Sanctum.[5]

In 2026, Prescod theorized that the Argentinean terrorists that attacked Colombia were in fact Skrulls attempting to start World War III.[7]
