While visiting Germany, Spider-Man swung around Berlin in order to test out his new suit. During this expedition, Spider-Man saved Angela Merkel who, unbeknownst to him, was the Chancellor of Germany. Local media took note of Spider-Man's heroic act, dubbing him in German that which translated into "Sticky Boy".
