―Angela Del Toro to Matt Murdock[src]

Biography[]

Losing Her Uncle[]

Soledad and Angela

Del Toro and her aunt at her uncle's trial

"He got in the middle of something. Busted up a fight with his mask off. Asshole cops were dirty. You got him out of jail. They put a bullet through his head. You don't gotta be good at math to put one and one together, you know?"
―Angela Del Toro to Matt Murdock[src]

Angela Del Toro grew up in New York City with her mother, and they lived in the same home with her uncle, Hector Ayala and aunt. When Ayala was arrested for allegedly killing a police officer, Del Toro attended his trial, where she discovered that he was the vigilante White Tiger. Ayala told his niece to never rely on someone else to do what can be done yourself. Soon, Ayala was found not guilty, but he was murdered soon after.[3]

Angela Del Toro angry at the cops

Del Toro voices her hatred of the police

Angered over what had happened, Del Toro went to see Ayala's body at the morgue, but was stopped by the coroner and Matt Murdock, Ayala's lawyer. Murdock told Del Toro that it was best she remembered her uncle the way he was and escorted her away. Del Toro was certain that the police killed Ayala, and she voiced her hatred for them as no one was going to do anything about her uncle's murder. As she cried, Del Toro hugged Murdock, who comforted her by assuring her that someone would find Ayala's killer.[4]

Investigating the Disappearances[]

Visiting Matt Murdock[]

Angela tells Matt what Hector's been working on

Del Toro asks for Matt Murdock's help

"Big fancy office, here to help the little guy, right? Only on your terms. 'Cause when the little guy puts something for real in your hands, you're all, 'Nah.' That's fine. That's cool. My bad for thinking you cared."
―Angela Del Toro to Matt Murdock[src]

Del Toro skipped school to visit the Matt Murdock at his office and tell him about what her uncle was working on before his death. Del Toro felt it had something to do with the people that were going missing, and she told Murdock that her uncle would have wanted someone finishing his work. Del Toro gave information about the kidnappings to Murdock, but he claimed that he was unable to help, which disappointed Del Toro. Before leaving, Del Toro repeated her uncle's words about doing yourself what couldn't be relied on others to do.[5]

Abducted by Muse[]

"It's Angela. She still hasn't come home. That's not like her."
Soledad Ayala to Matt Murdock[src]

Deciding to finish what her uncle started, Del Toro began looking into what happened. Beginning her search in an old subway line, Del Toro noticed some graffiti art including the symbol of Punisher. Continuing her search, Del Toro began hearing footsteps and was soon knocked out by Muse who carried her to his lair, where he began draining her blood. Soon after, Daredevil came to rescue her and fought off Muse. Del Toro nearly died from blood loss but was resuscitated by Daredevil.[5]
