Andre Deschaine's Trumpet was the beloved trumpet of D'Spayre which he used to steal the hope from his victims.
History[]
Jazz Musician[]
Andre Deschaine grew up loving music and eventually got a chance to perform with his trumpet. He was great at it, but was held back by the excrutiating headaches that came with the noise. These headaches got so bad that Deschaine was unable to continue his dream. Seeing no end, Deschaine left his trumpet in the street and made his way to the bridge to jump. He took a deep breath and prepared himself before the Roxxon Gulf Platform blew up, sending the scared Deschaine into the water. The explosion of Darkforce gave Deschaine the power to unlock the Dark Dimension.[1]

Stealing Hopes[]
With his new powers, Andre Deschaine discovered that he could use various methods in the Dark Dimension to steal hopes from victims. Stealing the hopes of others temporarily cured his headaches, which was all he needed to ignore moral judgement. He created a sex trafficking ring to find victims. He would then play his trumpet, which would steal their hopes.[2]
The Blue Note[]
Eventually, Andre Deschaine found out how to make himself more powerful. If he hit a blue note with his trumpet, he could steal countless people's hopes for himself.[1] He continued to play his trumpet, which magically teleported people to the Dark Dimension, where he played his music for them, finally without pain. He kept playing and even incapacitated Cloak and Dagger. However, he was eventually stopped by the pair, who killed his Human form, leaving Deschaine's Loa form's status up in the air.[3]

Duel to D'Spayre[]
In an arcade game created in the Dark Dimension, D'Spayre threatened to use radioactive heroin to kill Cloak and Dagger. As the pair fought him, Deschaine used his trumpet to fight back.[4]
