The Ambush on Wilson Fisk was an unsuccessful assassination attempt of Wilson Fisk by Maya Lopez as revenge for his role in her father's murder.

In 2007, Maya Lopez moved with her father William to New York City due to her mother's death in a car accident.[2] Wilson Fisk, one of her father's partners, grew fond of her and she in turn returned the affection, referring to him as Uncle.[3] When the Snap occurred in 2018, Clint Barton became a vigilante killer known as Ronin, who exclusively killed criminals as he deemed them unworthy of having survived the Snap when his own wife and children had been killed by it.[4] Three years later,[5] Fisk, who wanted to usurp leadership of the Tracksuit Mafia, informed Ronin that William Lopez and the upper management of the Tracksuits were at Fat Man Auto Repair.[1] Ronin then traveled to the shop and slaughtered the Tracksuits. He escaped just as Maya returned, who cried as she witnessed her father bleed out and die in front of her.[3]
Maya was then taken in by Fisk, who assured her that he was there for her and that he would locate her father's killer. Maya responded that she would kill her father's murderer if she found him, to which Fisk agreed. Maya then began working for Fisk as an enforcer[2] and took over her father's position as a lieutenant within the Tracksuit Mafia. In December 2024, she came across Kate Bishop, who had donned the Ronin suit, prompting Maya to chase her. She eventually discovered that Ronin was in fact Barton, who informed her that he was blinded with rage, as she was, and that it was Fisk who had arranged for him to kill William.[1]

Maya Lopez located one of the Trust a Bro Moving Company vans and commandeered it, where she then located a wounded Wilson Fisk coming out of an alley, who had been injured from his fight with Kate Bishop. Lopez pulled her gun on Fisk as he tried to appeal to her, claiming that they were family and that family did not always see eye to eye. In response, Lopez shot him[6] in the face.[2]

Assuming that Wilson Fisk was dead, Maya Lopez left New York City and returned to Oklahoma, while Fisk's associates sought revenge and put a bounty on her head. Lopez sought how to strike back against them and topple the remains of Fisk's empire, so she requested the help of Henry Lopez but to no avail.[2] With Biscuits' assistance, Lopez managed to hit the Black Knife Cartel's arms shipment[7], however, Vickie Tyson leaked her whereabouts to Zane, which led to an open confrontation.[8] Meanwhile, Fisk recovered from the gunshot, harboring no ill will against Lopez and even commisioned the Translator Contact Lens as a gift for her.
Fisk called off the Black Knife Cartel and met with her personally, offering her a place in his empire if she agrees to return to New York with him. However, Lopez had no interest in joining Fisk again and fled the town, which infuriated Fisk, so he targeted Lopez's family in retaliation.[5] To torment Lopez, Fisk ordered his men to kidnap Chula Battiest and Bonnie, while the Black Knife Cartel was preparing an attack on the Choctaw Nation Powwow. Lopez confronted Fisk and using her powers, she made him relive his childhood trauma, urging him to let go of the pain he was holding inside for years. Disturbed by the experience, Fisk called off his men from Oklahoma, leaving Lopez and her family.[9]
