- "Come on!"
"Kasius misses you." - ―Daisy Johnson and Sinara[src]
The Ambush on Quake was an ambush planned by Sinara in order to kill Quake under Kasius' orders. However, with Deke Shaw's assistance, Quake managed to overpower and kill Sinara.
Background[]
- "The Destroyer of Worlds has proven quite resourceful. You want to go after her? If she's alive, reclaim our property. If not, at least we'll have a trophy."
- ―Kasius to Sinara[src]
Kasius, leader of the Kree Watch in the 2091 Lighthouse, managed to capture three S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, Jemma Simmons,[2] Daisy Johnson,[3] and Melinda May[4] after they arrived through the Time Di'Alla. Fearing that there could be more of them, he ordered his men to look for more agents, while forcing May and Johnson to take part in duels for the entertainment of auctioners desiring to acquire Inhumans. However, thanks to the intervention of Leo Fitz,[5] most of the S.H.I.E.L.D. team was eventually able to escape the Lighthouse to reach the surface of the now destroyed Earth.[6] Knowing that the S.H.I.E.L.D. agents had survived despite the presence of Vrellnexians on Earth, Kasius sent his best warrior, Sinara, after them.
The S.H.I.E.L.D. agents had been welcomed into the remnants of the Zephyr One by the True Believers, a group who used to oppose the Kree rule over the Humans. However, the True Believers eventually turned on S.H.I.E.L.D. by attempting to murder Quake, who they deemed responsible of the destruction of Earth. This caused the death of Robin Hinton who, in her dying breath, told May that the key to S.H.I.E.L.D. returning to their time was a Lighthouse Inhuman named Flint.[7] Therefore, S.H.I.E.L.D. worked on repairing the Zephyr One to return to the Lighthouse, unaware of the presence of Sinara among them as she had infiltrated the plane shortly before it took off.[1]
Duel[]
Sinara remained hidden in the Zephyr One while the S.H.I.E.L.D. team struggled to take it off, until she saw Daisy Johnson leaving the group to help disconnect the anchors grounding the plane on the surface of the Earth. Sinara thus attacked Johnson, leading to a fierce fight which was initially rendered quite uncertain due to the absence of gravity when the aircraft was forcibly taken into the air. The artificial gravity was then activated by Melinda May, enabling the two women to fight on a more steady floor.
Fighting on a bridge in the plane's cargo bay, Johnson attacked Sinara with a heavy canister, but was promptly disarmed by the Kree warrior. Johnson then attempted to incapacitate Sinara with electric cables, but Sinara once again broke free and kept countering Johnson, eventually causing the two women to break the guardrail and fall from the bridge. Johnson and Sinara kept fighting, being quite on par with each other for a while, until Sinara was eventually able to gain the upper hand and repeatedly punched and kicked Johnson to knock her out.
Overpowered by Sinara, Johnson attempted to return on the bridge, but Sinara caught her leg to force her down. Johnson thus kicked Sinara to get rid of her, annoying the Kree warrior, who drew her knife and decided that she would kill Johnson even though Kasius preferred to have her alive. However, as Sinara prepared to strike, she was stopped by Deke Shaw, who had followed Johnson and blocked Sinara's arm with a Grappling Claw. Sinara detached the claw from her arm and quickly knocked out Shaw, being mostly unaffected when he attacked her.
Sinara then set her attention on Johnson once again, as she had managed to get on the bridge. The activation of the plane's thrusters enabled Sinara to jump from the floor right to the bridge, and she prepared to stab Johnson, but Johnson was able to anticipate the move and impaled Sinara on the broken piece of guardrail, thus killing the formidable Kree warrior.[1]
Aftermath[]
- "Look at me, clawing at the walls of my own mind. I envy your sleep. You rest while S.H.I.E.L.D. stalks my every move."
- ―Kasius to the deceased Sinara[src]
With the threat of Sinara removed, the S.H.I.E.L.D. team was able to safely take the Zephyr One to the Lighthouse. Having left the plane shortly before they arrived with a Containment Module, they allowed Kasius and the Kree Watch to inspect the aircraft, and the Kree immediately found Sinara's body. The death of his lover and best warrior had a devastating impact on Kasius, who began to lose his sanity as his rule over the Lighthouse was constantly challenged since S.H.I.E.L.D. had arrived from the past. Kasius ordered his doctor to revive Sinara just like he had with Tess, but the doctor explained he was unable to do so, causing Kasius to kill him. Sinara's death would eventually partly lead Kasius into drinking the lethal Odium.[8]
