The Ambush on James Connors was an unplanned attack by Tyrone Johnson on James Connors.
Background[]
During his childhood, Tyrone Johnson witnessed his older brother being killed by NOPD Detective James Connors. Upon trying to save his brother by jumping into the water, Johnson was exposed to a leaking stream of Darkforce liberated in the Destruction of the Roxxon Gulf Platform, which actually gave him superhuman powers.
Johnson's powers remained dormant for years until he was a teenager, when they began to manifest as he encountered Tandy Bowen, who gained powers in the same incident. Meanwhile, Connors had his crime covered up and became involved in the drug trafficking in New Orleans, something Johnson became aware when his powers unconsciously took him to Connors, and witnessed him loading drugs in his car.[5]

Aftermath[]
Although the whole experience left Tyrone Johnson puzzled regarding his newfound superhuman abilities, this gave him a first grasp at what he could do thanks to the manipulation of Darkforce. Since he had already recognized James Connors as the murderer of his brother and knew that Connors was involved in criminal activity, Johnson began to plan to get revenge on the Detective. This would cause Johnson to tail Connors and later threaten him with a gun.[6]
