The Ambush at the Grand Central Terminal was an attempt by the Wasp and the rest of the survivor group to acquire a train from the Grand Central Terminal and arrive at Camp Lehigh.

Captain America is attacked by Hank Pym
As a result of Hank Pym's unfortunate attempt to rescue Janet van Dyne the Quantum Virus was rapidly spread across the United States of America, turning the human population into Zombies. Once the Avengers and the Masters of the Mystic Arts joined the infected, the contagion was proved to be unstoppable.
Bruce Banner is rescued by Spider-Man
Within two weeks, the regional epidemic became a global pandemic, with the entire world overrun with zombies, leaving only a small group of survivors, led by the Wasp. After the group rescued Bruce Banner, they discovered a signal from the Camp Lehigh, regarding the possible cure from the Quantum Virus.[1]

The group arrived at the Grand Central Terminal to access the train and travel to the Camp Lehigh, and Okoye decided to split into two teams, despite Spider-Man's protests. While Okoye and the Winter Soldier stayed to guard the perimeter, the Wasp, Spider-Man, Bruce Banner, and Kurt Goreshter went to see if they could hot-wire the train. After examining the train, the Wasp concluded that the train's engine was malfunctioning, so Spider-Man attempted to boot it up with the improvised slingshot made out of his webbing.
Okoye's decision to split the group soon proved to be fatal, as zombified Hawkeye and Falcon attacked the group. Winter Soldier opened fire at Falcon who avoided the bullets using his EXO-7 Falcon and prepared to kill his former friend, but Okoye was able to rescue the Winter Soldier. Meanwhile, Hawkeye infected Happy Hogan, so Sharon Carter had to kill Hogan and take his Iron Man Gauntlet. The horde of Zombies soon swarmed the tunnel, attacking the survivors, however, Spider-Man managed to jump start the train, allowing his friends to escape from the zombies.[1]

On their way to the Camp Lehigh, the escape train was attacked by the zombified Captain America who infected Sharon Carter. The Winter Soldier and the Wasp were able to kill their zombified friends, however, the Wasp turned out to be infected by Carter. Considering herself doomed, the Wasp sacrificed herself to help the survivors to reach the Camp Lehigh through the horde of Zombies, ultimately getting infected in the end.
Vision tears the Mind Stone from his head
At the Camp Lehigh, the survivor group approached Vision who informed them that the wave frequency emitted by the Mind Stone was able to combat the Quantum Virus which he proved by curing Scott Lang's amputated head from infection. However, it was revealed that Vision was luring survivors into the facility to keep the zombified Wanda Maximoff fed, as the survivors found Black Panther with an amputated leg. Unable to leave Maximoff, Vision tore out the Stone and gave it to the survivor group so they could find a way to cure the outbreak, which resulted in the zombie horde swarming the facility.[1]
