The Ambush at Elektra Natchios' Penthouse was a retaliation made by the Hand for Elektra having managed to obtain classified files from the Yakatomi Building.

- "Someone's coming. The elevator's moving. There's a silencer in the lobby. Who is it, Elektra?"
"If I had to guess, Yakuza."
"No. No, that's impossible. I took care of the Yakuza."

As Matt Murdock returned his apartment, he found Elektra waiting for him. She explained her father's old investment in the Roxxon Corporation and asked Murdock for his legal help and offered to give him money. Murdock refused, however, and told her to leave his apartment.
The next day, Elektra arrived to the Yakatomi Building at the meeting with Roxxon. Upon arriving at the meeting, she met by Hirochi who introduced her to Stan Gibson, who would have the answers she was looking for regarding her father's money. During the meeting, Elektra hacked into Asano Robotics' servers located at the building to extract information.
Later in the evening, Murdock went to Elektra's penthouse when the Hand arrive. Elektra, under the belief that they were Yakuza, informed Murdock of such as she went into another room and changed clothes. Murdock realized that she tricked him into fighting with her, telling her that she didn't know him. In response she opened a bag which contained his Daredevil's Suit inside. Elektra then pulled up her cowl, getting ready to fight.[3]

Daredevil attacks the assassins by surprise
The Hand assassins arrived to the penthouse to find the person who hacked into servers. As they entered the building, Daredevil used the element of surprise that they had been granted and jumped down and attacked a man, with Elektra following and hitting the second man, knocking him out. Elektra and Daredevil fought what they believed to be Yakuza side-by-side as they soon overpowered a member each and then Elektra fought the only member alone. As Elektra quickly got the hostile on the floor, another member attacked her until she got up, but Elektra quickly knocked her out and kicked another member, bringing him to the ground and breaking his arm, making him scream.
With the numbers of the enemies now greatly depleted by Elektra and Daredevil's combined strength, the final member charged at Elektra. Daredevil knocked the man to the ground with one single solid punch while Elektra landed the last kick on the man she had brought down, leaving all their attackers lying beaten and unconscious on the ground around them.[4]
Aftermath[]
Matt Murdock questions Elektra
- "You fight better than anyone I know. But I have information. I gained access to Roxxon's servers right in front of their little criminal faces. We do it together, we take them down fast and hard. The second it's done, I'm out of your city."

The next morning, Matt Murdock and Elektra discussed their situation with Roxxon Corporation and the Yakuza, and Murdock agreed to working with her, under the condition that she left once they had completed their task.[4]
