"How can you shed tears with a view such as this, young one? I won't have it!"
M'Baku to Assata[src]

The Amanzi Kwakhona Umlambo is a river located in River Province, Wakanda. It is the longest river in Wakanda and inhabited by the River Tribe, and its most notable features are the Tribe's village and the Warrior Falls, where tribe warriors compete in coronation battles to become the Black Panther, ruler of Wakanda.[1]

History[]

Incoronation Trials[]

"Victory in ritual combat comes by yield or death."
Zuri[src]

In preparation of T'Challa's coronation to become Black Panther, a ceremony was held, with boats moving along the rivers of the region towards the Warrior Falls.

A confrontation at the falls saw T'Challa defeat his challenger, M'Baku. In the days following, Erik Killmonger arrived in Wakanda, challenging the throne at the falls. The battle that followed resulted in the death of Zuri and the fall of T'Challa, who was presumed dead after he was thrown off of the falls; however, he was simply unconscious.[2]

Assata's Troubles[]

"Of course I'm right, or I would have simply asked you to leave so I could enjoy my favorite view alone."
M'Baku to Assata[src]

Assata went to the Amanzi Kwakhona Umlambo near the border of Jabari Land to cry. M'Baku approached her and asked why she was crying despite view of the river, so Assata explained that her disability made it seem as though it were impossible for her to join the Dora Milaje. M'Baku asked Assata what she thought impossible meant, explaining that some defined it as needing to find another way. He told Assata that vibranium is not what makes Wakanda special, but rather that Wakanda was special because of its citizens' ability to dream. Assata realized that M'Baku was correct, and M'Baku joked that if he were not, he would have asked her to leave so he could enjoy the view alone.[3]
