"I was nine, okay? When my mother got dragged away and murdered. Kasius got rid of all the elders, all the smart people, and she was one of them. And after she was gone, my dad took up the cause."
Deke Shaw[src]

Alya was the daughter of Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons, as well as the mother of Deke Shaw, from a timeline where Earth had been destroyed. She was murdered by the Kree Watch to destroy any hope for the people of the Lighthouse, leaving her son to be raised by his father.

Biography[]

This is an in-depth biography of Alya/Destroyed Earth. For an abridged overview, see Marvel Database's article on the same character.

Family Heirloom[]

"She always spoke about her dad with so much love and admiration on her face. Said that he was the best man she ever knew."
Deke Shaw to Jemma Simmons[src]

Alya was born to Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons. She grew up with admiration for her parents, who eventually gave her a shard of the Time Di'Alla she preciously kept.[2]

Raising Deke Shaw[]

"Every year for my birthday, my mom would find me a big, juicy orange."
Deke Shaw to Daisy Johnson[src]

Alya married Owen Shaw and gave birth to a son they named Deke. She deeply cared for her son, teaching him to believe in himself and transmitting a sentence which would follow Deke his whole life, that he did not need to make big steps from the moment these steps took him in the right direction.[3] She also told Deke much details about Fitz and Simmons, expressing admiration for her parents.[4]

Dangerous Beliefs[]

When the Earth was destroyed and the surviving Humans fell under the rule of the Kree Watch in the Lighthouse, Alya became a prominent member of the True Believers, a group of people who believed that S.H.I.E.L.D. agents would come from the past to prevent the cataclysm. The Kree Watch fiercely fought against this belief and sought to eliminate the True Believers. As a result, Alya was captured and murdered by the Kree.[5] The fragment of the Time Di'Alla she owned from her parents was passed to her husband Owen Shaw.[2]

Legacy[]

Although Deke Shaw learned to live in a harsh environment and remained far from the beliefs which had his mother killed, he never forgot his mother's teachings during his childhood. Alya recognized the fragment of the Time Di'Alla his mother once owned when he arrived in the Zephyr One, and the fragment was subsequently used by S.H.I.E.L.D. to return to their time.[2]

A recreation of Alya was created by the Fear Dimension out of Deke's mind. The recreation recalled several memories of Deke's childhood before being destroyed by a Kree Warrior.[3]

Equipment[]

  • Time Di'Alla: Alya owned a shard of the Time Di'Alla, which was passed down to her by her parents.
