Alya is the daughter of Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons.

Biography[]

Child of Genius[]

Alya was born halfway through 2020, on the S.H.I.E.L.D. ship Zephyr One in deep space. Her birth was the result of her parents, genius engineer Leo Fitz and biochemist Jemma Simmons, taking a years-long break from building a time machine to aid their S.H.I.E.L.D. colleagues in combating the temporal threat of the ancient alien race known as the Chronicoms to build their long-dreamt life together. However, in 2023, when Alya was a little girl, Simmons began to feel guilty about leaving their friends on Earth seemingly to suffer, and she began to panic, so she and Fitz completed their time machine designs with help from Enoch, their long-time companion and friend and the only Chronicom on the side of S.H.I.E.L.D. Once they were finished, including building a memory-suppressing mind implant given to Simmons and a Life-Model Decoy of revered S.H.I.E.L.D. figure Phil Coulson, they put some pillows and a blanket in a Containment Module for Alya and put her to bed in it, before using their designs to travel back in time to the moment they left Earth in the Zephyr in 2019.

After arriving in the past in the past, Simmons met up with S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Piper and a recreation of an Inhuman from an alternate timeline known as Flint, and promised them anything they wished for in return to them agreeing to guard the Module with their lives, though she said nothing of Alya or Fitz, who was also inside the module waiting to arrive an alternate timeline. They agreed, and Simmons commenced the plan.

A few minutes later, Simmons and Fitz came to the Module. Piper opened the capsule, surprised by their presence, and once she saw that Fitz was no longer inside, she accused them of forcing them to guard the Module for nothing. Fitz's then told Piper that, rather, she was guarding their everything. Simmons then opened the part of the Module where Alya was sleeping and said her daughter's name. Hearing this, Alya happily got up and hugged her mother, asking what was wrong. She then said that Simmons had said that she and Fitz would be gone for a long time, but that it hadn't been long. Having experienced several weeks in an alternate timeline, Simmons joked to Alya that it had felt like forever for her, not wishing to share the pain she experienced. Alya then noted that the destruction of the Temple of the Forgotten nearby had been loud, but she had only been scared a little. Simmons smiled, and continued hugging her daughter as Fitz looked on with love.

A year later, Alya was playing in the garden with her parents while they were attending a virtual meeting session with their team. Several things were shared about her, including her loving the birthday present she had received from her Uncle Mack and how she wanted to design her own fish (despite the latter's legal ramifications). Eventually, she grew impatient on the other end and began to bug her father, forcing him to disconnect. Simmons also disconnected after a bit longer, and watched as Alya played and had fun with Fitz.[1]

Personality[]

Alya is a sweet girl, and, mirroring her original counterpart, particularly admired her parents Leo Fitz and Jemma Simmons. She notably takes after her mother in her fascination with ubiquitous creatures found in nature, such as fish, even wanting to design her own despite its illegality. She is also quite unflappable, as she was only scared a little by the noise of the Temple of the Forgotten being blown up by Chronicom missiles.
