Alphonso Mackenzie was the former director of S.H.I.E.L.D., who died when Glenn Talbot managed to infuse himself with the Gravitonium and absorbed Quake while going on a rampage, destroying Earth in the process.

As S.H.I.E.L.D. discovered that Glenn Talbot had lost control of his mind following him infusing his body with Gravitonium, Mackenzie and the rest of the team went on a mission to stop him. However, once Talbot was able to absorb Quake into his body, he gained access to Quake's Inhuman power, which he proceeded to use to crack the Earth apart, with Mackenzie among the billions killed as a result.[2]
