====Losing Her Mother====
Wu-Gulliver was born to [[Lorna Wu]], leader of the band [[Lorna Wu and the Coral Shore]], and inherited [[Wu Family Curse|the same curse]] that had affected the women in her family for generations. To protect her daughter, Lorna taught her magic, insisted upon her getting a protection tattoo as a young teenager, and wrote a variant of the [[Ballad of the Witches' Road]] as a protection spell. This song become a global hit, ensuring it would be played by someone somewhere at all times and preventing Wu-Gulliver from being taken by the curse. Lorna, however, was not able to save herself; while on tour, she was killed by the curse in what appeared to be a hotel fire. Because she was said to have died "on the road", it was falsely rumored that she had died on the [[Witches' Road]]. To cope with her mother's death, Wu-Gulliver convinced herself that Lorna's belief in magic was crazy, distancing herself from her mother's world and the song she wrote to protect her.{{Ref|AAA103}}{{Ref|AAA104}}

At some point, Wu-Gulliver worked as a police officer, through which she gained many skills and connections that she would continue to utilize after leaving the job. ===The Witches' Road===
====Joining Agatha Harkness' Coven====
While working as [[Westview Shopping Mall Security]], Wu-Gulliver noticed [[Billy Kaplan]] seemingly shoplifting and tackled him to the ground. [[Agatha Harkness]] lied to Wu-Gulliver's supervisor that Kaplan was her son and was innocent, resulting in Wu-Gulliver being fired for use of excessive force. As she left, Harkness and Kaplan approached her and revealed their awareness of her real identity, including that she was the daughter of Lorna Wu, and asked her to join [[Agatha Harkness' Coven]] to walk the Witches' Road, suggesting she may learn the truth of what happened to her mother. Despite knowing the Witches' Road had nothing to do with Lorna's death, Wu-Gulliver recalled that her mother had indicated the Road could save her from the curse, and joins Harkness, [[Lilia Calderu]], [[Jennifer Kale]], and [[Sharon Davis]] in performing the Ballad of the Witches' Road to open the gate, barely escaping from the [[Salem Seven]].{{Ref|AAA102}}

====The Potions Witch Trial====
Shortly after arriving on the road, the coven and Kaplan reach the [[Potions Witch Trial]], where they are directed by a clue to consume poisoned wine. Kale is able to identify the poison based on their symptoms and directs them to find the necessary ingredients for the cure; while searching for ingredients with Kaplan, whom she had earlier bonded with by discussing their traumas as young teenagers, Wu-Gulliver hallucinates [[Lorna Wu/Witches' Road|a version of her mother]] shortly before her death. She is comforted by Kaplan before returning to the other witches and making the cure as water begins to flood around and in the trial. Though most of the coven are able to drink it in time, they are unable to save Davis, who dies as they escape the trial through the oven.{{Ref|AAA103}}

====The Protection Witch Trial====
After Wu-Gulliver and Kaplan bury Davis, the coven agrees to attempt a summoning spell to find a replacement Green Witch and wind up summoning [[Green Witch|Rio Vidal]], who identifies herself as not just ''a'' Green Witch, but ''the'' Green Witch. With their new member, the coven reaches the [[Protection Witch Trial]], which Wu-Gulliver is immediately put off by. Due to Harkness's trickery, the witches overhear Vidal stating that Harkness will kill them all and Vidal will collect their corpses, but their confrontation is interrupted by Kaplan starting a record of Lorna Wu's version of the Ballad of the Witches' Road that plays backwards, transferring the Wu Family Curse onto the other members of the coven. Wu-Gulliver recognizes its effects after it strikes Calderu and Kale, who she saves with protective circles, and begins apologizing for her involvement when the curse throws Kaplan through a glass pane, though he seems largely unharmed. Realizing that Lorna's version of the ballad is a protection spell and that the only way to defeat a curse is to face it, Harkness encourages Wu-Gulliver and the rest of the coven to perform the song. As the performance comes to its conclusion, Wu-Gulliver realizes that she can now see the embodiment of the curse and is able to kill it with the song when it attacks her again, breaking the curse on not only herself but the rest of the coven and Kaplan. However, as the exit opens through Wu-Gulliver's piano, Kaplan collapses due to a shard of glass that pierced his stomach, causing him to bleed out. Kale is only just able to save him after they return to the road, and Wu-Gulliver, Kale, Calderu, and Vidal bond while Harkness watches over him, until Vidal and Harkness split from the group after Vidal alludes to their shared past.{{Ref|AAA104}}

====Agatha Harkness' Trial====
The coven rests on the road, but are awakened by Calderu seeing the Salem Seven arriving on the road through a gate left open by the summoning spell that brought Vidal. They attempt to escape with makeshift brooms on Kaplan's suggestion, but the road crashes them back to the ground in front of the next trial, which they escape into as the Salem Seven attack. Vidal recognizes the trial, tied to death through a blood moon and a ouija board, as [[Agatha Harkness' Trial]], as the witch closest tied to death. Despite Harkness's hesitation, the coven utilizes the ouija board to commune with the present spirit, which states its intention to punish Harkness before possessing her when she takes her hands off the board. The ghost reveals itself as [[Evanora Harkness]], Harkness's mother, who insists that the coven must leave Harkness behind with her. Though Kale is willing to go along with the ghost's demands, Wu-Gulliver fights back when Evanora possesses her daughter, blasting her out of Harkness's body with her magic; however, this attempt to save Harkness allows her to activate her own powers, draining Wu-Gulliver's powers for her own and killing her.{{Ref|AAA105}}
