Yelena Belova's Visit[]
Sometime after the termination of the Red Room, Alexei Shostakov bought a house in Washington, D.C. One night, Shostakov ordered DoorDash from his house. While waiting for his food to arrive, Shostakov watched footage from his days as the Red Guardian, including a parade in which he stood beside Joseph Stalin. Yelena Belova then knocked on his door, but Shostakov mistook her for his DoorDasher, telling her to leave his order on the porch.
However, when she announced herself, Shostakov rushed to make himself presentable, using dish detergent as mouthwash and throwing on a robe. Shostakov opened the door for Belova and allowed her to enter. As they sat down, Belova asked her father if he felt fulfilled, and replied that he did considering his limo service. The two got on the topic of Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, with Shostakov begging Belova to put in a good word for him as he wanted to work for de Fontaine.
Belova questioned whether or not there was a point in working for de Fontaine, prompting Shostakov to share that he was happiest when he operated as Red Guardian. He then advised her to follow in Natasha Romanoff's footsteps as she understood what it meant to be a hero. Belova looked at a photo of the soccer team she was apart of as a child, the West Chesapeake Valley Thunderbolts, leading Shostakov to recount how one of her teammates pooped on the field during a game. Belova then left the house.[1]
