Shaw Giving Advice
"Come on. I never totally fit in with the gang, anyway."
The subject of this article is part of an MCU franchise story that has been officially deemed to be non-canonical to the primary continuity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Its events instead occur in another reality within the Multiverse. This universe is designated by the Marvel Cinematic Universe Wiki as the "Iso-8 Power Source Universe".

"I have evolved far beyond what I once was. Suffice it to say, you took everything from me. I shall do the same to you."
―M.O.D.O.K. to Iron Man[src]

Aldrich Killian was the leader of A.I.M., who sought eternal life using Extremis, causing his death. However, using a previously backed up version of his consciousness, he resurrected himself as M.O.D.O.K. and sought to kill Iron Man, leading to his second and final death.

Leader of A.I.M.[]

Death and Resurrection[]

"You're not the only one with plans for every outcome. Extremis was but one part of A.I.M.... one path to immortality. You destroyed my body, but my consciousness had already been backed up."
―M.O.D.O.K. to Iron Man[src]

Aldrich Killian was the leader of A.I.M. who helped develop Extremis, which he saw as a path to immortality. Knowing there could be other paths to this desire, Killian had his consciousness uploaded to a computer. However, Killian was stopped by Iron Man, who destroyed his body. While Stark thought Killian was dead, the latter used his uploaded consciousness to recreate his body and evolve to become M.O.D.O.K.[1]

M.O.D.O.K.[]

Attack Against Stark[]

Now living as the "Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing", Killian dropped his given-human name and vowed to be known only as M.O.D.O.K. He then used A.I.M. to set out against Stark Industries. M.O.D.O.K. teamed up with Ezekiel Stane and the two hired Living Laser and Crimson Dynamo.[1]

Meeting Stark Again[]

"How typical of you, Stark. Unable to face the horrors you yourself unleash upon the world."
―M.O.D.O.K. to Iron Man[src]

Iron Man had defeated Ezekiel Stane, Crimson Dynamo, and Living Laser, causing them to retreat. Therefore, M.O.D.O.K. decided to take it into his own hands. He met Stark, who was fighting A.I.M. soldiers. At the sight of M.O.D.O.K., Stark could only grimace, causing M.O.D.O.K. to call Stark out for not being able to see the horrors he had put out into the world.

M.O.D.O.K. then told Stark his new name and vowed that he would be his end. The two fought, with M.O.D.O.K. launching lightning blasts. However, M.O.D.O.K. was overwhelmed and remarked and how he believed his form had evolved enough, but clearly it did not. Stark told him that if his head got any bigger, he would tip over. This prompted M.O.D.O.K. to tell Iron Man to enjoy the insignificant life he had left. M.O.D.O.K. left, having successfully distracted Stark enough for A.I.M. to steal classified intel from Stark Industries.[1]

2.0[]

"That was only a taste, Stark. When Stane and I have completed out revenge, this pain will seem the sweetest of mercies."
―M.O.D.O.K. to Iron Man[src]

Upon returning to his place, M.O.D.O.K. started evolving himself to a new version: "2.0". He then went out for a rematch against Iron Man. He told Stark that they were meeting for the first time as he was a new being and Stark was the same fool he had always been. Stark dug at M.O.D.O.K., saying that you should not mess with perfection; however, in M.O.D.O.K.'s case, he should get some work done. The two had a rematch, where M.O.D.O.K. was defeated again, but told Stark once him and Ezekiel Stane had their revenge, his death would be a sweet victory. Stark claimed he did not know M.O.D.O.K., who responded that he evolved past what he once was.[1]

The Final Boss[]

"Fool. You think this means anything? The process is complete. My consciousness is embedded in your network! There is no removing it!"
―M.O.D.O.K. to Iron Man[src]

M.O.D.O.K. once again evolved himself to a "3.0" version. He then went out to defeat Iron Man once and for all. Once he met his enemy, Stark said that he understood why Ezekiel Stane hated him, but he did not know the deal with M.O.D.O.K. M.O.D.O.K. told Stark that Extremis was just one path to immortality and before Stark destroyed his body, Killian's consciousness was backed up. Stark then realized M.O.D.O.K. was Killian.

While the two fought, M.O.D.O.K. was able to upload his consciousness to Stark Industries servers, which allowed him access to secrets that could take down Stark Industries and allow A.I.M. to fill its place. M.O.D.O.K. started gloating to Iron Man, who did not fear as Stark decided to shut down all Stark Industries servers and start anew. M.O.D.O.K. started computing error messages as servers were being shut down and asked Stark why he would destroy his life's work. Stark told him there was more life to live. M.O.D.O.K. then combusted into flames as he was killed again.[1]
