In prehistoric times, a monstrous race of extraterrestrial beings called Deviants arrived on Earth and landed in Alaska. However, they ended up being frozen in the ice, which preserved them for centuries.[1]

Emil Blonsky was taken into custody and put in a cryo-cell, the Vault, located in Barrow, Alaska. S.H.I.E.L.D. assigned some of their agents to guard Blonsky.[2]

Return of the Deviants[]
In Fall 2024, following the Blip, a glacier melted and the Deviants that had been frozen inside of it were restored to consciousness. Ikaris, an Eternal, brought his leader Ajak to Alaska and lured her into a trap where the Deviants, led by Kro, killed her.[1]

- In a non-canon deleted scene, Bruce Banner attempted to commit suicide in Alaska, but Hulk spit the bullet out. Hulk then caused a rampage that uprooted the ice, sending Captain America and his shield flying.[3]
