The Air National Guard is a federal military reserve force as well as the riot militia for Washington, D.C. and each American state.

Air National Guard tasked the para-rescue unit with apprehending Khalid Khandil and sent them to Bakhmala, Afghanistan. Since Khandil hid himself in an area protected by soldiers using RPGs, preventing the United States Air Force from sending helicopters to the area, Sam Wilson and Riley used two sets of EXO-7 Falcon to infiltrate the area. However, Riley got hit by one of the RPGs and died in action, and Wilson could do nothing to help him. Wilson successfully completed the mission and resigned from the military, feeling guilt for Riley's death.[1]
