Adam was an artist and the former lover of Vanessa Fisk. He was kidnapped by Wilson Fisk after he discovered the affair Vanessa had engaged in with Adam since they had separated. Being tortured and kept hostage inside a cage for weeks, Adam was soon shown to Vanessa by Wilson. Despite their past, Vanessa ultimately killed Adam and rekindled her love for Wilson.
Biography[]
Working for Wilson Fisk[]
Relationship with Vanessa[]
- "It was his hands. His hands drew... beautiful sketches. I mean, just–"
"Can we not?"
"It was like finding a Klee at a garage sale." - ―Vanessa Fisk and Wilson Fisk[src]
Adam was an artist who came into contact with art dealer Vanessa Fisk.[4] Due to her husband Wilson Fisk's absence, Vanessa felt lonely[5] and abandoned[4] and began a sexual relationship with Adam[1] who was unaware of her relationship with Wilson Fisk.[3]
Held in Captivity[]
Kidnapped by Wilson Fisk[]

Adam angrily begs Wilson Fisk to be freed
- "Please... Mr. Fisk..."
"Mayor Fisk. I was told forgiveness is the highest form of love. I wonder... would you agree with that, Adam?" - ―Adam and Wilson Fisk[src]
At some point before 2027, Wilson Fisk managed to track down and abduct Adam, confining him in a cell at an underground prison as he relocated to fulfill his responsibilities as Mayor of New York. Following a private dinner with Vanessa at Gracie Mansion, Fisk traveled to the warehouse to have a second, discrete dinner with the imprisoned Adam, who pled with Fisk to be released from captivity. Ignoring his captive, Wilson reflected on the value of forgiveness.[4]
Taking a Chance[]

Adam witnesses Wilson Fisk's approach
- "And... when I was younger, smaller, I went up against men three times my size. Yeah. Men who knew how to use their hands, and they did so, often. And I learned that... a simple tool, it can be a great equalizer."
- ―Wilson Fisk to Adam[src]
One night, Adam heard footsteps coming towards him. He looked out from the bars of his cell to see Wilson Fisk with an axe. Backing away fearfully, Adam listened as Wilson informed him that Vanessa Fisk would want him to let Adam go if she knew of his kidnapping. However, as Wilson unlocked the door, he explained that that was difficult, noting their connection via their shared sexual experiences with Vanessa.

Adam ragefully charges towards Wilson Fisk
Wilson then recounted how, when he was a boy, he often fought people much bigger than him who knew how to use their hands, having learned that a tool could be an effective equalizer. Wilson then threw the axe into the cell and readied himself, wanting Adam to fight him. Adam, filled with rage, grabbed the axe and charged at his captor. Adam swung twice and missed, being punched and swatted away by Wilson.

The two continued to fight, with Wilson breaking the axe and quickly gaining the upper hand. Wilson splayed Adam out on a table and mercilessly beat him, letting out all of his anger and causing Adam's blood to splatter against the wall. Wilson then launched Adam into the wall and screamed that Vanessa was his. He then dragged an unconscious Adam back into the cell.[6]
Killed by Vanessa[]

Adam sees Vanessa Fisk enter the dungeon
- "Please. Please. Vanessa, I won't say anything. I'll just leave. I didn't mean for any of this to happen."
- ―Adam to Vanessa Fisk[src]
Adam eventually regained consciousness and spent more time trapped in Wilson Fisk's dungeon. However, one day, Wilson came down the stairs to Adam's prison accompanied by someone: Vanessa Fisk. Vanessa looked at Adam in shock as she saw what Wilson had done to him.

Adam is told to stop talking by Wilson Fisk
Adam begged Vanessa to give Wilson an apology on his behalf, having not known that Vanessa was his wife, although Wilson quickly shut him down. When Vanessa stated that Adam had no place in her and Wilson's lives, Adam agreed and promised not to tell anyone about his capture if they let him go. Despite this, Wilson bellowed at him to be quiet, and Adam then listened as the Fisks spoke quietly about him and the situation.

Adam lies dead on his bed upon being shot
Seeing that Wilson had placed the key to his cage and a gun on a table for Vanessa, Adam swore to Vanessa that he would not tell a soul if he was allowed to go free. Looking down somberly, Adam lamented that he had not meant to damage Wilson and Vanessa's relationship, and Vanessa assured him that she knew. However, she still chose the gun and shot Adam three times in the torso and once in the head, killing him.[3]
Legacy[]
Repaired Marriage[]
- "Sins of the past are dead and buried for both of us."
- ―Vanessa Fisk to Heather Glenn[src]
With Adam dead, the main wedge between Wilson and Vanessa Fisk was gone, allowing them to fully reconcile and repair their marriage. They also no longer felt the need to continue marriage counseling with Heather Glenn, with Vanessa thanking Glenn for her help at Wilson's Black & White Ball and informing her that she and Wilson had made amends for their mistakes.[3]
