"This time, you die."
―Abomination to Hulk[src]

Seargent Emil Blonsky is a soldier who took serum turning him into Abomination.

Biography[]

Bruce Banner Manhunt[]

Ambush in Porto Verde[]

"Oh, I've been waiting for this..."
"Hulk throw puny humans at you!"
―Emil Blonsky and Hulk[src]

Emil Blonsky led a United States military team which was dedicated to tracking down and finding Bruce Banner. The team found Banner in Porto Verde, Brazil, and Blonsky ordered an attack. A monster known as Hulk appeared and attacked the soldiers, easily fighting his way through them. Blonsky got excited to fight Hulk himself, but Hulk declared that he would throw other humans at him. Blonsky began firing at Hulk from behind a wall, but Hulk found other soldiers and threw them at Blonsky, defeating him. Blonsky ordered a retreat, insisting that they would get him the next time. Realizing that Hulk and Banner were the same person, Blonsky had Thaddeus Ross put him through a similar process, turning himself into a monster known as Abomination.[2]

Battle at Culver University[]

"Remind me to thank your pal Ross for the added boost."
―Abomination to Hulk[src]

Bruce Banner was found at Culver University, so Abomination led an attack on the university. He warned Banner that he had enhanced himself, ordering the military to surround the campus. Hulk defeated all the soldiers, so Abomination stepped in and delcared his intention to kill Hulk, mentioning that Thaddeus Ross was responsible for his transformation. Abomination threw rocks at Hulk to attack, but Hulk countered by hitting the rocks back at Abomination, hurting him. Hulk did this until Abomination gave up, saying that he would get Banner the next time.[2]

Duel of Harlem[]

"And you thought I was bad before..."
―Abomination to Hulk[src]

Blonsky found Bruce Banner in New York City and shouted after him, sending soldiers after him. Determined to finish the fighting, Hulk approached Abomination, who boasted about his newfound strength and began throwing rocks at Hulk again. Hulk deflected the rocks back to Abomination, who eventually jumped to a higher building as Hulk chased after him. Abomination resumed throwing rocks and was joined by more soldiers, but Hulk still managed to launch Abomination's thrown rocks back at him. Abomination shouted that Hulk would die and jumped to the next building over. Hulk resumed fighting Abomination and defeated him, upsetting Abomination. Hulk transformed back into Banner and tried to warn Abomination that their power is a curse rather than a privilege, then left Abomination in defeat.[2]

Personality[]

Emil Blonsky was a determined individual with a one-track mind, solely focused on capturing Hulk. He prioritized his own safety over that of his fellow soldiers, as when attacking Hulk in Porto Verde he hid behind a wall while the other soldiers confronted Hulk head on. Blonsky's determination led him to transform himself into Abomination, although he was able to retain his determined personality and goal of capturing Hulk. He was more willing to face Hulk in this stronger state, but still sent other soldiers ahead of him. It was only when he could no longer fight that Blonsky gave up.

Powers and Abilities[]

Powers[]

"Just so you know... I've been enhanced."
―Abomination to Bruce Banner[src]
  • Artificially Enhanced Physiology: Blonsky had Thaddeus Ross enhance his own abilities to make him a match for Hulk, which made him a larger threat.
    • Superhuman Strength: Abomination was incredibly strong to the point where he was able to rip concrete out of the street and throw it as a projectile at Hulk.
    • Superhuman Durability: As Abomination, Blonsky had enhanced his body's ability to take pain. The only way for Hulk to hurt him during the Battle at Culver University was for Hulk to fire his own projectiles at him. Even when Abomination was hurt, he asked for more and continued to fight.
    • Superhuman Agility: Due to the strength in his legs, Abomination is able to jump great distances across buildings that even Hulk needed to climb, with accuracy and with little enough force not to damage the building.

Abilities[]

  • Expert Marksman: Blonsky was able to fire weapons at Hulk over a solid wall with high accuracy.
  • Expert Tactician: Despite his determination clouding his judgment, Blonsky was still aware of military strategies enough to know when to retreat.

Equipment[]

  • Gun: Before his transformation into Abomination, Blonsky attacked Hulk with a gun.
