Doctor Abdallah El-Faouly (Arabic: عبدالله الفوالي) was one of Egypt's renowned archeologists and the father of Layla El-Faouly. Following a successful expedition, he was murdered by Raul Bushman.
Biography[]
Raising a Daughter[]
- "The man indulged you. You think his dig sites were any place for a child?"
- ―Lagaro to Layla El-Faouly[src]
Abdallah El-Faouly was an archaeologist who was dedicated to his craft.[2] El-Faouly had a daughter named Layla, who, he referred to as his "Little Scarab" and took her to archaeological sites, disappointing Lagaro. He did however allow Lagaro to teach Layla how to make fake passports which she would use later in life.[3] In 2018, El-Faouly survived the Snap.[1]
Death[]
- "My partner got greedy and he executed everyone at the dig site. I tried to save your father, but I couldn't save him."
- ―Marc Spector to Layla El-Faouly[src]
El-Faouly went to the dig, where he encountered Marc Spector and Raul Bushman. Bushman got greedy and wanted the treasures to himself. Spector attempted to save El-Faouly and the others but was unsuccessful as Bushman shot everyone present, to ensure that there were no witnesses, including El-Faouly and Spector, killing El-Faouly.[4][2] His spirit then entered the Duat where he met Taweret, the Egyptian Goddess of Women and Children, who took him to the Field of Reeds.[5]
Legacy[]
- "Marc remembers everything that happened that day. Everyone who died. But one man stands out. Man with a fuchsia scarf. Scarab details. Handmade. Made by his daughter perhaps."
"Are you done?"
"I do hope you find closure." - ―Arthur Harrow and Layla El-Faouly[src]
Spector recovered from his injuries inflicted on him by Bushman, having been healed by the Egyptian god Khonshu, and met El-Faouly's daughter, Layla, wishing to tell her the truth about what happened to her father, but was unable to bring himself to tell her.[2] Layla and Spector eventually fell in love and later married.[6]
Layla was unaware of the exact circumstances of her father's death and her husband's involvement in it, saying to Lagaro that whatever happened was lost.[3] Layla would later learn of Spector's connection to Abdallah’s death from Arthur Harrow, though he tried to convince her that Spector himself had killed Abdallah, and later confronted Spector who told her the truth of what happened, greatly upsetting and angering her.[2]
