- Together with Russell Paul, Gerald Gutschmidt, and Keiji Yamaguchi, McBride was nominated for a Visual Effects Society Award for Outstanding Models and Miniatures in a Feature Motion Picture for the "Suit up Machine" in Iron Man.
- Together with Giles Hancock, Richard Bluff and Todd Vaziri, he was nominated for a Visual Effects Society Award for Outstanding Created Environment in a Live Action Feature Motion Picture for his work on Iron Man 2
