More people start entering the mall as a safe haven from the category 8 hurricane which is destroying the town of Haven Hills.[1][2]
The welcome sign for Haven Hills is destroyed by a falling cell tower. The town floods, causing several buildings to explode and catch fire. The holographic figure outside of Roxxcart Mall glitches as it downpours.[1]
Some of these events are the result of a universe jump due to the Timedoor The events previously took place on Outside of Space-Time
Mobius M. Mobius, Hunter B-15, Hunter D-90, Loki, and several Minutemen arrive and search for Sylvie. They enter the mall and Loki uses his magic to dry himself off. B-15 orders two teams to check the storm shelter. Mobius attempts to search a different area, but B-15 insists on watching Loki while D-90 goes with Mobius. Loki agrees to stay with B-15 to earn the Time Variance Authority's trust.[1][2]
Sylvie watches on security cameras as the team splits up, and then sets a timer for twenty minutes. She leaves the security room.[1][2]
Loki and B-15 encounter someone
Loki and B-15 walk through the mall. Loki attempts to make small talk, but they get distracted when they notice someone shopping for plants. Loki finds this odd during the storm, but the man insists that there is a hurricane sale. Loki tells B-15 that it could be the Variant, so she cautiously approaches the shopper with her Time Stick.[1][2]
Sylvie, who had been possessing the shopper, enchants B-15, causing the man to pass out. "B-15" tells Loki that he will survive and greets Loki.[1][2]
Mobius and D-90 enter the storm shelter and begin looking for the Variant. A man asks if they are with FEMA or the National Guard. When Mobius says that they do not have a helicopter to help them, the man asks how they got to the mall. D-90 shoves the man out of the way and searches bags. Mobius tells him that the people are scared, telling him to calm down. A Minuteman rushes in, having found Hunter C-20.[1][2]
Mobius and D-90 follow the Minuteman into the security room, where the find C-20 terrified, saying to herself that her memory was real.[1][2]
Loki and "B-15" talk to each other, and "B-15" talks about Loki working for the TVA. Randy approaches them, and "B-15" enchants him before passing out. Loki checks on B-15 as "Randy" mocks him. "Randy" walks away as Loki follows, suggesting the Variant is too scared to meet him face-to-face.[1][2]
Loki implies that he is undercover in the TVA, offering to "Randy" a chance to overthrow the Time-Keepers, offering the Variant a place at his right hand. Randy turns down the offer, saying that "he" is not interested in ruling the Time Variance Authority. "Randy" runs away as Loki chases after him. Sylvie adjusts a wire on a Reset Charge.[1][2]
Mobius and the Minutemen find C-20
C-20 continues muttering to herself as Mobius attempts to get through to her. D-90 suggests that she has lost her mind, but Mobius keeps trying, and C-20 says that she wants to go. Mobius tells a Minuteman to call the TVA, but C-20 tells them that she gave away the Time-Keepers location. D-90 attempts to contact B-15.[1][2]
Loki asks "Randy" what "he" wants, but "Randy" says that Loki is too late. Loki insists that finding "him" makes him the superior Loki, when he notices a Reset Charge, believing the Variant's plan to be blowing the TVA up. However, "Randy" possesses another man and, who attacks Loki and thanks him for helping him stall.[1][2]
Loki fights his Variant, who starts choking Loki with a chord. The "man" says that he has things to do before throwing Loki into a table. A robot dog toy approaches Loki.[1][2]
Mobius and D-90 look for Loki, and are joined by B-15. D-90 says that it appears Loki betrayed Mobius, and continue searching.[1][2]
The "man" finishes connecting a TemPad to various wires as Loki gets up and looks for "him," demanding to know what the Variant wants from him. She unpossesses the man and reveals herself to him, saying that it is not about him.[1][2]
The timer counts down to zero, causing a power outage. The Reset Charges are all engaged and sent through Timedoors to various points on the Sacred Timeline. Mobius, D-90, and B-15 see one fall, and Mobius wonders where they are going.[1][2]
Emergency lights turn as Loki watches Sylvie pick up a TemPad and open a Timedoor with it. Sylvie waves to Loki and steps inside. Loki approaches the Timedoor, but sees Mobius, D-90, and B-15 running after him. Mobius calls out for Loki to stop, but he runs through anyway as the door closes. Mobius shouts as B-15 and D-90 catch up to him.[1][2]
B-15 takes Sylvie back after Sylvie had been arrested, and Sylvie believes that B-15 wants to fight her. B-15 asks what she saw when Sylvie enchanted her. Sylvie says that she showed B-15 her life from before the TVA, to B-15's surprise. Sylvie explains that the Time-Keepers took her life from her and that all of the TVA are variants. At B-15's request, Sylvie shows B-15 her life from before the TVA. B-15 gets emotional and realizes that she was happy. She asks Sylvie what to do.[3][2]
