- "C-20 and her team went dark shortly after they jumped into the 1985 branch. All signs point to another ambush. We've grabbed enough temporal aura to know it's our Loki Variant."
- ―Hunter B-15 to the TVA Agents[src]
This is a timeline of events that occurred in 1985 in a reality visited during an investigation by the Time Variance Authority.
1985[]
April[]
12th[]
- Sylvie Laufeydottir arrives in Oshkosh, Wisconsin at a Renaissance fair.[1][2]
- A group of people dressed in Renaissance outfits wrap a maypole.[1][2]
- Three men dressed as friars talk and hold drinks.[1][2]
- A man dressed like a dwarf with a staff passes a shop.[1][2]
- A team of Minutemen led by Hunter C-20 arrive to investigate the Nexus event Sylvie caused. As they search for the variant who caused the Nexus event, a woman approaches them, mistaking them for working for the Renaissance Fair, telling them that they aren't dressed right. C-20 and the Minutemen ignore her and follow the Variant, upsetting the woman.[1][2]
- Kidnapping of Hunter C-20:
- The Minutemen enter the tent where the Variant was detected, when music suddenly starts playing as C-20 realizes they walked into a trap. An announcement starts playing over the PA system as the Minutemen prepare their Time Sticks. The Variant possesses C-20 and unbuckles her helmet.[1][2]
- "C-20" kills a Minuteman, causing Minuteman 20061486 to notice. "C-20" stabs 20061486 with a lance while the variant kills her. "C-20" fights Minuteman 200914867365, who asks what she is doing. "C-20" simply replies that she is having fun before the Variant stops possessing her and she passes out. 200914867365 notices the Variant, who stabs him before he can, killing him.[1][2]
- The Variant steals 200914867365's reset charges and a TemPad. She takes C-20 with her through a Timedoor.[1][2]
- A team of Minutemen, along with Hunter B-15, Mobius M. Mobius, and Loki appear through a time door. As they approach where C-20 was kidnapped, Loki asks Mobius why they cannot go to before the attack, and Mobius explains that the branch is too unstable. Loki says that the Time Variance Authority's training videos are boring, so a Minuteman quizzes him about the purpose of the Reset Charges.[1][2]
- The group see that C-20 is unaccounted for, and B-15 realizes that the Variant they are hunting is taking hostages, and Mobius says that he has never kidnapped someone before. A Minuteman suggests C-20 was pruned, but B-15 dismisses the notion. B-15 orders the Minutemen to search for her, but Loki stops them by suggesting the Variant set a trap for them.[1][2]
- Loki explains that he as a trickster manipulates the gullibility of the Asgardians, comparing them to the TVA. He suggests that underestimating his Variant is what is getting them killed as the branch gets dangerously close to becoming permanent. Loki explains that the Variant is waiting outside. Loki offers to deliver the Variant, given assurances that he will not be pruned. Mobius listens as Loki says that the Time-Keepers are in more danger than they previously realized, causing Mobius to realize that Loki was lying.[1][2]
- B-15 orders the Minutemen to reset the timeline. The Minutemen leave as Mobius says that his knows better. The Minutemen return as the timeline is reset.[1][2]
