In the late hours of June 11th local time, prisoner Frank Morris makes a fake figure of himself to trick the prison guards. As the guards check cells for bed time, Morris hides under the bed, tricking the guards as planned. He then gets up and pulls back his box revealing a pre-carved hole that Clarence and John Anglin are hiding in.[1][2]
The three inmates then crawl through the hole until they get to the pipes. They carefully walk around the pipes until the reach a ladder that brings them up to the roof.[1][2]
Avoiding detection, they make it to the beach where they set up a boat and plan to sail away. However, they are interrupted by the appearance a Time SlippingLoki who approaches Morris and is glad he is there. Loki goes on, calling a confused Morris, "Casey." Morris and the Anglins think Loki is providing a boat for their escape gets mad that he is early, but Loki, who is just as confused, says it is not him.[1][2]
Morris then tells Loki he is going to have to find his own way off Alcatraz Island before resuming business of getting the boat in the water. As he looks away, Loki disappears, briefly confusing the prisoners before they make their escape.[1][2]
