Housing the Flag Smashers[]
1337 Connect was owned by Rudy, a sympathizer with the Flag Smashers. Hearing that the group needed a place to stay, Rudy offered the internet café, and the Flag Smashers accepted. Rudy and his wife prepared meals for the group, who showed up that night. Rudy led them into the room where they could stay while talking about how he is a fan of what they were doing. Hector Lennox checked a computer for their status and found that their group had been gaining popularity. Karli Morgenthau, the group's leader, shared with the Flag Smashers that the group needed to be connected to their cause. Matias responded by leading the group in chanting their slogan, "One world, one people." Needing to escape the Power Broker, they left 1337 Connect to go to an airport.[1]
Raided[]
The Global Repatriation Council received information about the Flag Smashers staying at 1337 Connect, so they sent John Walker and Lemar Hoskins to the internet café with other soldiers in order to find them. They found the place to be empty except for Rudy and demanded to know where to find Karli Morgenthau. Rudy refused to answer and spit in Walker's face, prompting Walker to shove Rudy against a support beam and demand information. However, Rudy remained loyal to the Flag Smashers and claimed not to care who Morgenthau was. Walker and Hoskins left, frustrated, as Hoskins realized that distributing resources would help Morgenthau gain favor with many people. Walker then decided to keep tabs on Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes.[2]
