- "I am el Águila. And before you make assumptions, no, I am not a matador."
- ―Águila to Jennifer Walters[src]
Alejandro Montoya is a self-proclaimed swashbuckler from Spain, known as el Águila,[3] and former member of Abomaste.
Biography[]
College Years[]
During his time in college, he dabbled in some light matadoring.[1]
Abomaste[]
Meeting Jennifer Walters[]
- "I know exactly who I am. I am a swashbuckler."
"He says that like it's an occupation. Waving a sword around isn't a job unless you're a matador." - ―Águila and Man-Bull to Jennifer Walters[src]
In 2025, Águila went to Emil Blonsky's retreat and joined Abomaste. One day, he and Man-Bull became engaged in a fight, resulting in him being slammed into Jennifer Walters' car. After he and Man-Bull had stopped fighting, they introduced themselves to Walters. Blonsky got onto them stating they still needed to workout their issues, but Águila became defensive at that. Blonsky then told them to help move Walters' car to the garage.[1]
Therapy Session[]
- "Last session, we really explored Alejandro's struggles with his identity."
"Just because I am Spanish and I have a flair for the style, people constantly assume that I am a matador. It's dehumanizing." - ―Emil Blonsky and Águila[src]
Later, Águila joined Man-Bull, Blonsky, Porcupine and Saracen at the Wood Lodge for their meeting. As they were starting, Walters walked in by accident exclaiming how she finally found internet connection. Blonsky invited her to join them, but she declined. Aguilo continued to mess around with Man-Bull leading him to have to switch spots eventually.
Aguilo and the others then were joined by Dirk Garthwaite and witnessed when Walters transformed into She-Hulk to toss him into the corner. She explained how he had attacked her, leading to her joining them to resolve her issue with him. She additionally opened up about Josh Miller and how he had ghosted her, in which Aguilo stated Miller had become an enemy of them all and brandished his weapon. When Porcupine took his suit off, Águila gagged in disgust.[1]
Jennifer Walters' Departure[]
After Walters had peace with herself, she wanted to undergo a sweat session at the yurt. Águila and the others waited outside for her, and when she came out, they cheered in approval. When the tow truck came, they said goodbyes to Walters and gave her a farewell card.[1]
