Depends on what individual people want

That’s part of why I mention expectations. I expect that the storyline in the movies and tv shows won’t be the same. Now me being a black man, diversity is good if the characters are there and they get their time to shine. The thing I don’t like is changing skin color for a certain character but the personality is still the same as the original.

Some of the criticism isn’t about diversity. Some of it is that people feel it’s become boring, somehow, or they feel like it’s too formulaic (I can understand that one), or that there doesn’t seem to be a focus despite all the stuff about the multiverse. I think just some expectations are not to what people wanted but people need to remember to temper expectations. And also, saying that the biggest criticism is diversity seems disingenuous because plenty of people feel like some productions writing has been wonky or completely off. That’s my two bits.
