Can somebody help my memory? Joseph Quinn says the new movie is toning down Johnny Storm’s “womanizing”. But I don’t remember Johnny ever being a womanizer, as I understand the word. In the comics, he’s a celebrity and even a sex symbol, and he enjoys the fact, but he doesn’t even play the field, let alone two-time a steady. He’s been serially monogamous since the Strange Tales days. Or am I missing something? What is it Quinn thinks he needs to move away from? Something from the Fox movies I’m blanking on?

To me, the word implies multiple simultaneous liaisons, infidelity, or at least indifference to the women’s feelings or situation, not just a high body count. Some people just don’t like to be alone. I don’t recall Johnny using women, cheating, or breaking hearts without remorse. And wasn’t the affair with Doom’s partner her idea, and Johnny didn’t know about Doom? As I remember it he was set up. I could be wrong; that’s why I’m asking.
That explains it - I don’t read anything Ultimate.
I’ll see it, but I can’t say I’m excited about it.
The latest I’ve heard via YouTube vloggers is some details of scenes deleted after test screenings. Raises my concern about the script they went with. Also Pedro objected to the cuts as he thought that stuff some of his best work in the movie. This tells me Reed is very likely to be underserved in the story, and that’s way too bad.

Pedro has a spare tire in WW84. Reed has never been that heavy or that craggy.
I don’t think Driver looks anything like Reed. Reed Richards, like most comic book leading men, is conventionally attractive. Adam Driver has a face made for radio.
I disagree strongly re Adam Driver, but whatever. Krasinski has never looked that bright to me.
I want them to do well enough to get sequels, but I’m far from sold on Pedro.
Tom Halloway, the Golden Age Angel. Also Hannibal King, vampire private detective. The latter was in Blade:Trinity, but that’s pre-MCU.
Reed and Victor, obviously. Namor and Victor also.
I’d prefer a more comics-accurate Baxter Building. I’d prefer a more comics-accurate Avengers HQ, for that matter.
I don’t know where this came from, but I would not like to see it anywhere. I would prefer to keep Doom’s face a mystery, and his character villainous, even if he dies.
I hope the victory is down to the greatest super-power in the team: Reed’s mind.

It’s not sudden on my part. He’s too close to real-life shooters for me to see him as a sympathetic antihero. I’ll say he’s well-written when he goes to prison for the lives he’s taken.
You can’t get me interested in Punisher because to me he’s a villain whose plot armor allows him to get away with murder.
Fantastic Four, for me. It’s not what I would have ordered, but I’ll take it. Doomsday is a distant second.
