@LR2159 is wrong and coping over being wrong. Marvelus is correct, and does not "change his mind every day." Helstrom is not canon.
@Cloak0117 Marvelus has maintained that it is not canon in this entire timespan. He has never once said that it is canon, just that it is part of the MCU franchise from its conception. Even in the screenshot you provided, he says that it's not canon. What are you on about?
The font used here is not accurate to the in-universe depiction. The font used for the logo is mostly made from primitives with sections cut out. Take the C, for instance, which is simply a circle with the right side partially removed. The O is a circle with a filled circle inside of it and a line cut vertically down the center.
No. It's established early in the movie that the reason she has cancer is because it runs in her family, and that she lost her mother to cancer as well.
The general audience is not keenly aware of the distinction between Sony's Spider-Man Universe and the MCU. They just assume now that everything Marvel in film is considered part of the MCU. Naturally, they then come to the MCU Wiki expecting it to be there. It isn't, but that doesn't stop it from populating the searches.
We never had a "menu" for it. On certain pages, there are subpages for promotional campaigns, and none of them have been removed, though they should be more accessible than they currently are, admittedly.
"We can assume it's all part of the abstraction from what's actually happening in canon in that moment."
I completely disagree. It is part of the canon, we should do our best to not assume anything simply to suit our interests here. If a character breaks the fourth wall, we just gotta admit that in-canon, they broke the fourth wall. The best way to reconcile things like this is to not reconcile them at all.
@ThinkTankMC You did not mention a single policy.
"the way works are cited"
This criticism, admittedly, I understand and have worked on addressing in my free time a bit. Though, it's a high standard to be held to, because a lot of large wikis have had very specific citing policies and special templates for citations that we just did not have early on. In the present, we have 30,000 pages, so when and if we decide to implement a more organized and comprehensive system for citations, we will have to retroactively rework the entire site's references. That is going to take time. The way we do it now is the default, and I don't think there's any good done by simply complaining about that.
"A lot of the history sections, such as events, wars, and characters also just seem to be overly long summaries of scenes, such as "he remarked this" or he "she jokingly stated that", without any real facts or details."
You don't even know what you yourself want from this wiki. Those *are* the facts about these events. Those are the events that transpired. What do you expect us to do? Boil our history sections down to one sentence summaries so that it looks cleaner? We aren't the Marvel website, we are a detailed encyclopedia. Also, if you have specific issues with the way anything is worded, you have the power to change it. This is a collaborative process.
"There are even some articles, like the Arc Reactor or Quantum Tunnel page, that are still waiting to be updated."
Yes, wikis have to actually be edited by someone willing to put in the time for the content to be there. Shocker. Instead, we get people complaining about these sections being incomplete.
"Some pages are literally just copied and pasted dialogue word-for-word. If any other wiki did that, it would be banned entirely."
Literally what are you on about? No, none of our pages (aside from quote pages) are copy-pasted dialogue, and if they are, that should be removed according to our policies. Certainly, it's not something that would get any wiki banned. You compare us to Halopedia and Wookieepedia, but we do not differ majorly from those wikis in the way our articles are formatted and the way biography and history sections are laid out.
It's actually a terrible explanation given where Kate's apartment is in relation to Stark Tower.
I use a mixture of paint.net and PhotoShop. I have only made one flag, which is the ancient Ten Rings flag from Shang-Chi. Most of the flags are real-world ones that are already available on sites like Wikipedia.
One can take an insanely long amount of time. The more accurate they are, the longer they take, unless they don't have an icon of any kind. Each one takes at least an hour, most of them probably took two or three.
@Idontthinkgotgisthatgood They have already done that multiple times. Not everybody who works on MCU projects knows everything about the MCU. It has led to contradictions many times in Marvel Studios material.
@Idontthinkgotgisthatgood Look at it from James Gunn's perspective and think about why he is going against basically everybody else that is working on the MCU right now. Everybody else says Daredevil and Marvel TV is canon, but James Gunn is an exception. In working in the cosmic side of the MCU, Gunn has never had to conform anything to, or interact with, Marvel Television. It makes sense then that he would view that material as essentially non-canon, even if the material is in fact canon, and he simply plays no role. That is the most likely explanation, at this point.
@Idontthinkgotgisthatgood Whether he acted the same has nothing to do with canon, but for what it's worth, Vincent thought his performance was essentially the same. As stated prior, the description of Assembled Hawkeye is very explicit. This is the same Kingpin from Daredevil.
@Ruancraft I promise I am not trying to be rude. I am trying to help you communicate better with others. Please, take our advice.
