And he was in MoM or is he irrelevant to that movie? Or are you saying that because Strange outwitted Dormamu using the time stone he should be able to beat an empowered Wanda in a direct fight?
Well then it’s a good thing neither had anything to do with the movie.
Remember this was Wanda empowered by a chthonic temple as well though - that’s like altering reality wholesale Wanda.
That one isn’t as egregious to me - Wanda was empowered by the Darkhold temple here, so that’s got to be a big boost.
Honestly, Reed got done the dirtiest in the movie.
World’s smartest man immediately gives away a massive tactical advantage then tries to punch the witch.
Mister Fantastic thought he could stretchy punch Wanda.
It was never made clear what caused the incursion. 838 Strange caused one while dreamwalking, but that doesn’t mean that dreamwalking itself was the direct cause.
If dreamwalking = incursion then what caused the incursion that Clea recruits Strange to help with?
Stepping back and trusting America was Strange’s arc.
He basically got to see the outcome of choices that his other selves made and the consequences of those choices. If he wanted to defeat or thwart Wanda in the event that defeat wasn’t possible, it would have meant sacrificing America.
Strange and Wong caught Wanda off guard, but she was prevailing against that - Strange had to choose either the path he took, or to make the same cold calculations as his other selves.
He was just mad that evil Strange didn’t say “things are getting out of hand” like he did in the trailer.
^^nope, but decrying anything that doesn’t constantly reinforce male superiority as bad/pandering sure does.
You may however be overestimating how many of those dudes are insecure dudes.
Because I’ve some time to kill in between things and this kind of bs deserves some pushback.
Strong words from someone who spends half their time here complaining.
Also, buzzwords? Do you mean sexist - the word I used in response to you using it?
Aside from that I’m not sure what you’re interpreting as buzzwords.
^^my point was that no one called him out as sexist for it, and it was a physical altercation.
Had Strange beaten Wanda at the end of MoM it would have been weird/borderline nonsensical given the structure of the movie up to that point, but unless he literally did it by backhanding her and telling her to know her place no one would have latched onto it as sexist.
Pretending that the only reason that Strange didn’t beat Wanda was over concerns of appearing sexist is weird.
Well you got me there I guess - I’d completely forgotten about the mass public condemnation of Thanos after he head butted Carol out of Endgame until after the climax.
Ahhhh, there it is. To clarify things, when I was talking about someone being frustrated by the climax purely because they wanted to see Strange beat Wanda, it was LG with their highly predictable axe to grind that I had in mind.
Never mind that in order to defeat Wanda, Strange would have had to prove the criticisms of him right and taken a path that would have lead to him spiralling out of control himself.
But y’know, gotta put those dumb girls in their place amirite?
Agreed - that was amazing visually. Not saying that’s the case here with the op, but it feels like the only real reason to be upset that the movie didn’t culminate in a decisive fight between Wanda and Strange would be if you care less about the plot and more about who can beat up who.
^yep. Going off and dedicating yourself to reading the Darkhold is near enough to the opposite of realising that you did wrong.
Wanda needed support of some kind and a therapist after Wandavision, not a cursed tome that corrupts people.
I can’t really say that Fallon or Kimmel Do much for me (not saying I hate or even dislike them, just that outside of the occasional bit I don’t care about them), but I’ll choose Kimmel purely because he didn’t stare dead eyed at the cameras and shill nfts.
There are plenty of characters created at both Marvel and DC, purely to prevent a competitor trading on the recognition of one of their pre-existing character’s names.
Spider-Woman I think started out this way? There are plenty similar situations with a very recognisable name ending in “man or “woman,” where there was suddenly an often completely unrelated character both with the name gendered differently.
