I don't really have much else new to add here but I agree with many of the points raised by the opposition. I do think Raff can certainly prove himself to be worthy of the position with time but for now my formal vote is oppose.
You'd be surprised.
I'm referring to the placements of the Netflix seasons and how closely they match the wiki - this is the official Marvel Studios timeline
It's always so cool to see the influence this wiki has on Marvel Studios themselves
I cannot describe how validating it is to see Marvel clearly just placing them where the wiki places them
The latter. The Timeline article just has yet to be updated.
Fell asleep halfway through
The reason Kate is older is because Peter blipped. Originally Peter was a year older, but then Thanos happened.
Florence Pugh and Tom Holland were born in the same year yet one is playing a 30+ year old and the other is playing a character still in his late teens. Simu Liu and Meng'er Zhang were 31 and 33 respectively when filming for Shang-Chi yet their characters are both 24 and 20 respectively. Remi Hii was 31-32 when filming for Far From Home yet plays a 16-year-old. Taskmaster is in her early 20s in Black Widow yet is played by a 40-year-old Olga Kurylenko. I could go on, but point is, stuff like this is fairly commonplace throughout the MCU.
What If...? was quite dark, I agree. Its lack of quality was truly terrifying and it chilled me to the bone.
A bunch of unnecessary changes that could have been prevented had they taken everything into account.
Him bashing Sprite over the head got one of the biggest laughs out of me during Phase Four.
1) A July 2026 placement works best given all the information we have regarding Cassie's age. We know she was born anywhere between the range of July 19-22, given we see her birthday being celebrated in Ant-Man which is just days after Scott was released from prison on July 17, 2015. The final battle between Ant-Man and Yellowjacket is two weeks later. We also know Quantumania takes place on July 24th of whichever year, as we see said date on two separate posters during Scott's book reading, placing the events of the film mere days after Cassie's birthday.
Now, for her age:
In Ant-Man and the Wasp, set in April-May 2018, Scott says to Woo, "Hey, you try and entertain a ten-year-old when you can't leave the house." This line suggests Cassie was born in July 2007.
In the Avengers: Endgame script, Cassie is referred to as "14." Since Endgame is set in October 2023, this suggests Cassie was born in July 2009.
Peyton Reed has stated that Cassie is six in Ant-Man. This suggests she was born in July 2009.
Peyton Reed has stated that Cassie is nine in Ant-Man and the Wasp. This suggests she was born in July 2008.
Peyton Reed has stated numerous times that Cassie is 18 in Quantumania. This is supported by the fact she is held in a jail cell with other adults, both of these only being possible if she were 18 or older.
In Quantumania, Cassie states, "A guy dressed like a bee tried to kill me in my room when I was six," referring to the final battle of Ant-Man. This suggests she was born in July 2009.
From all of this, the best overall compromise is a July 2008 date of birth and July 2026 Quantumania placement.
Just turned seven in Ant-Man. Cassie and Reed's statements about her being six during the final battle of the first film are only incorrect by a matter of two weeks.
Nine going on ten in Ant-Man and the Wasp. The film is set April-May, meaning her birthday is three months away. Reed's statements about Cassie being nine are correct, while Scott's statement about Cassie being ten can either be interpreted as him rounding up or him knowing she was born in 2008 and that it is now 2018, so 2018 - 2008 = 10. Either way, Scott is only incorrect by a matter of three months.
15 for a few months in Endgame. The script is only incorrect by three months.
Just turned 18 in Quantumania. Fits Reed's statements and Cassie being held in jail.
2) Toward the beginning, Scott states, "It's been a crazy few years. For everyone." This is seemingly referring to the Blip (October 2023), as this would quite literally apply to everyone and is the last time we saw Scott. "A few" can mean no less than two, meaning July 2025 would not work, as this is only one year and nine months. July 2026, on the other hand, does work, being two years and nine months.
3) Disney+ placing the film after The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (December 2025) as mentioned.
4) The edition of Look Out for the Little Guy! we see in Quantumania features a sticker saying "OVER 10 MILLION COPIES SOLD WORLDWIDE." Scott is shown to have been touring for the book during the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (May 2025), meaning this would be odd for it to only be two months onward if this were July 2025. The book reading we see in Quantumania does not necessarily have to be a part of Scott's tour as some may believe, allowing July 2026 to work better in this regard.
As far as I'm aware, the only piece of evidence that goes against a July 2026 placement comes from Nate Moore saying that the film is "almost concurrent" with Wakanda Forever, which does indeed suggest July 2025. However, Moore has been incorrect in the past, so this can easily be disregarded.

She-Hulk is at the very, very earliest a few months after Shang-Chi. As shown in Episode 1 of She-Hulk, a few months prior to the main events of the series, Bruce is able to heal his arm and no longer requires a cast. Bruce has his cast in the post-credits scene Shang-Chi, set only two weeks after the movie began, therefore meaning that the present-day events of She-Hulk Episode 1 and beyond are at least a few months following Shang-Chi. The large majority of evidence suggests She-Hulk is, in fact, set in 2025, specifically Spring 2025.
- Jessica Gao saying "It’s definitely after– post-Endgame. [...] And so it's like... the show is a few years after Endgame." This means that 2025 is the absolute earliest possible setting for the series, being at the very least two calendar years since Endgame in 2023.
- Although not very reliable much of the time, Disney+ places the series between Moon Knight (April-May 2025) and Ms. Marvel (May-June 2025).
- With a 2025 placement, Matt Murdock and Wong's timeline can be kept in chronological order, with both of their latest appearances being in November 2024 (in the No Way Home extended cut and Multiverse of Madness respectively). Marvel doesn't like having their characters' timelines out of order unless a movie is an obvious prequel.
- Wong essentially confirming in Episode 3 that the memory-erasing spell in No Way Home has already happened. He doesn't know the exact details of the spell but he knows that it has happened. This means that the series is definitely post-No Way Home, so post-November 2024.
- Wong strongly implying in Episode 3 that it is the same time of year as Shang-Chi. "In regard to Mr. Blonsky vacating his cell, I gave him no choice. But it was absolutely his choice to return. I offered him asylum at Kamar-Taj, which is truly lovely this time of the year." Blonsky agrees with Wong, and he has only been to Kamar-Taj during the events of Shang-Chi, which is set during spring. Since the series is at least a few months post-Shang-Chi, this best fits with Spring 2025.
- Wong implying in Episode 4 that the events of Multiverse of Madness have already happened, as he says that they still have vodka left over from a wedding that is hinted at being Christine's. This places the series after November 2024.
- Jen having a calendar on her computer in Episode 4 which notably matches the month of April 2025.
The Apogee scene is on the night of the 11th and his kidnapping is on the 13th, which does in fact happen to line up with the "36 hours earlier" thing. Don't really see the issue here.
Let's not forget that Phil Coulson/Clark Gregg have appeared in an MCU product every year the MCU has produced content.
I think we can put this one to rest. The date on the laptop is completely undiscernible.
Could be. But 2021 is the best estimate we have.
