<p>True, but When Thor had the vision of the four stones weren't they all in a semi-sphere shaped? None of them were in the form of a cube. </p>

<p>Yes. The stones are encased in different containment fields. The Aether was in a giant square column in some unknown part of the universe (at least I don't know what it was called). The Orb was pretty much unscrewed in GOTG to release the Power Stone. The top of the Sceptre contained the Mind Stone and Ultron used a laser to break the blue-ish sphere around it. The Tesseract was never unlocked, but it still has enormous power just like the rest. </p><p>Interestingly, I also think that Odin or his father Bor had possession of these stones and perhaps helped create the containment fields. Bor took the Aether from Malekith and would have been kept in Asgard if not for the Tesseract already being there. Odin had the Tesseract once upon a time in the Vault along with the Gauntlet, but tried hiding it in Northern Europe hundreds of years ago. The Sceptre had some link to Asgard because Thor had vision of it causing what appeared to be Ragnarok. </p>

<p>In the comics Thanos easily outsmarted the Elders of the Universe (The Collector being one of them) to gain the 6 gems prior to his Infinity Gauntlet. He could have just as easily done the job he gave to Ronan, but was likely taking a small risk in Ronan keeping the Orb to himself. Thanos could have removed the Orb through a combination of force and smarts. </p><p>The same logic could be used with Loki and Thanos giving him the Scepter. If the Scepter and Tesseract were so easily linked why didn't Thanos use it to go to the Tesseract and just leave with both? He didn't need to give Loki orders to open the portal over NYC. Loki had the tesseract within the first few minutes of arriving and could have just as easily returned to Thanos with it. If that had been the case, the Avengers would have been a much shorter movie. </p><p>The strongest evidence pointing to the Scepter containing the Mind Stone is that it was used to control other's minds. The Tesseract may have had a similar power signature, but it did not have control anybody's minds. The Tesseract opened a portal to a distant galaxy/dimension (a la space gem). If it was another reality I would have assumed the Tesseract was the Reality Gem that coincidentally was given to Thanos when he was a "member" of Adam Warlock's Infinity Watch. </p><p>Let us say just for giggles that the Scepter does contain the Mind Stone. That leaves the Soul Gem and Time Gem. The Time Gem/Stone could play a prominent role in Captain America 3 to jump start Phase 3. The fun is in the speculation. The Soul Gem would fit best, or at least in my opinion, in GOTG 2 because it is closely linked to Adam Warlock. Warlock is also the antithesis of Thanos and the sooner he gets revealed the better. In the comics he was closely tied to the High Evolutionary, but in the MCU I could see Tivan as Warlock's "father figure." </p>

<p>The colors are not exact. The aether was red so that made people think it was the power gem, but it turned out to be the reality. The power gem, or the orb, was purple in the movies. As a present James Gunn received from Marvel a replica of the orb with a red gem inside. This coincided with the color in the comics but differed from the MCU because purple seemed to go better in GOTG and red was already used for the aether/reality. </p><p>The bottom line appears to be that the colors clearly don't match up, but Marvel doesn't want to repeat any colors, so you do have a valid point. </p>

<p>Very interesting. </p><p>The other character I am looking forward to being introduced in the Thor films is Surtur. He is obviously one of the most formidable foes to not just Thor, but he can go toe to toe with Odin. He is major enough to be the main antagonist in a movie and his pursuit of the sword is enough to create a plot around. What if he has something to do with Loki's ascent to the throne? </p>

<p>Yeah, he was eager to be king in the beginning of his first film, but now he is more interested in playing the role of Midgard protector. Loki could use this as a way to show their fellow Asgardians that Thor is not worthy to rule and if he remains in the guide of his step-father Odin, he will have the lion's share of forces. As a Thor fan, I would like to see more of the Warrior's Three, Sif, Balder, the Vizier, and even the Enchantress helping the Thunder God out and show Loki for what he really is. The only problem I fear is that too many supporting characters can bog down the story. </p>

<p>It is not a stretch of the imagination to see it either way. I think it is the mind gem and just wanted to be reconnected to the cube. Their power is not the same, but very similar. </p><p>I find it funny that the stones/gems give off gamma readings because the Hulk is already powered by gamma radiation. If Loki's goal while in SHIELD captivity was to unleash the Hulk, the scepter could have brought about a transformation without getting him angry, or maybe if it was the mind gem triggering the Hulk-portion of Banner's brain thereby triggering a transformation anyway. </p><p>In any case, the scepter and cube are linked in power readings, each a singularity from the beginning of the universe wanting to rejoin with the rest of the 5 stones, like the One Ring in Tolkien mythology. The only reason they are not drawn together is because they are contained in some sort of cosmic containment unit (a la Infinity War storyline). The scepter holds the mind gem's power in check the same way the tesseract holds the reality gem's power back. The granite block for the aether and the orb worked the same way. </p>

<p>I can definitely see how Asgard could fall into conflict with Midgard. This is a lot like the Siege storyline. The Thor movies have so far been the main back story setting up the infinity stones and Avengers would have made no sense without Thor. Now Loki is in control of Asgard and has a lot to settle with humans. With Asgard's army and Thor's loyalty to humans, there is certainly a lot of potential. </p><p>I would like to see him turn face and become "good", or at least not as evil because he shared the grief with Thor over the death of their mother. </p>
