Back in late August of 2022, a YouTuber called The Cosmic Wonder said that he heard a rumor about Deadpool 3 basically being a Deadpool-led X-Men movie. According to what he heard, the premise is going to center on Deadpool traveling across the multiverse with the X-Men. Not just Colossus, Negasonic Warhead, and Yukio, but major X-Men members from the X-Men films.

This was weeks before the announcement that Hugh Jackman would be returning as Wolverine for Deadpool 3. Hugh Jackman himself said that he decided to return in late August of 2022, the same exact time Cosmic Wonder heard about the rumor.

Last month, Patrick Stewart said that Hugh Jackman told him to stand-by for Deadpool 3. Then later that month, Stewart suggested that he and Ian McKellen were both going to return as Professor X and Magneto.

So far, the rumor looks pretty legit at this point. It also seems like the movie might not even be titled "Deadpool 3". According to Daniel Richtman, the working title for the movie is "Untitled Deadpool and Wolverine film", which suggests that Wolverine will be in the title. This was later backed up by Hugh Jackman himself, who referred to it as "Wolverine and Deadpool". So it seems that Deadpool is going to share the spotlight with at least one character.

What do you think? I think if they're going to give the X-Men co-leading/supporting roles than they should call it "Deadpool & The X-Men". Basically, being the Marvel equivalent of Harley Quinn & The Birds of Prey.

If the rumor is true, they are totally going to make a joke about how they can afford the X-Men now that they're under Marvel Studios instead of Fox!

Also I don't know if you saw No Way Home but bringing characters in from another universe caused quite the problem and I highly doubt Strange wants that repeated. If you like the Fox X-Men fine. If you can't accept it fine. Will there be a reboot in the future absolutely yes.

I think there is going be both a soft and hard reboot of the X-Men. With the old franchise being soft-rebooted into an Exile-inspired series and saving a hard-reboot for later.

For those of you who don’t know, Exiles was a X-Men spin-off comic series and it was essentially the X-Men equivalent of Spider-Verse. The premise centered on a team composed of mutants collected from different realities to repair damages to various timelines in the multiverse. What If adapted elements from Exiles, which I made a whole topic about a few months ago.

I theorize that Marvel Studios is making steps towards an actual Exiles team. For starters, Patrick Stewart said that he had a long conversation with Kevin Feige about returning as Professor X. The leaks for the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel say that Sir. Stewart has a supporting role in the film as the character, leading of the Guardians of the Multiverse/Illuminati. A shot from the teaser does support this leak. The movie apparently ends with the multiverse becoming unstable according to the leaks and that sounds like the perfect set-up for an Exile team.

Fox had made three different X-Men universes with the film series, Legion, and The Gifted. There was actual talk about a potential Exiles. Legion had a whole episode that explored the multiverse concept and the final season of Gifted ended with a cliffhangers that hinted at the multiverse. It definitely seems like producers had Exiles in mind and Marvel Studios might be picking up on that idea like they did with Deadpool 3. The Exiles had also dealt with a female version of Kang and so it fits in perfectly with the new saga their building.

I think they’re saving a hard reboot X-Men for much later. Because introducing mutants into the main universe would feel like a rehash of the prequels series. Kevin Feige said they wanted to something that hasn’t been done with the X-Men before and he seems to be more interested in working with the original cast again. I mean, he tried to make the series (along with the Raimi trilogy) canon to the MCU back in the day. Just check out the original post-credit scene of Iron Man.
